An article on the history of the tooth brush says it was invented around 1600 AD in China. So Jesus and the people in his time and place may have cleaned their teeth with some other method, but not via tooth brushing.

You're exactly right that healthy teeth are a reflection of a healthy body, not how fastidiously one cleans the outside of their teeth. The many traditional peoples that Price observed did not brush their teeth, but they also did not do "oil pulling". Most of them did not produce oils, which were made possible by modern industrial processes. Is there any non-anecdotal evidence to support oil pulling?

I have never done oil pulling and have never had a cavity, tooth pain, or orthodontic work. Anecdotal evidence that oil pulling is not necessary for excellent oral health.

This had made sense to me for a long time. I don't use toothpaste but do use a soft toothbrush after flossing. I would love to oil pull but have read that shouldn't be used if one has mercury fillings. With no money to have my fillings removed, I've been afraid of oil pulling. Any thoughts on that?

Your blog looks interesting. I'm off to explore now. :)
