David Wolfe Hits the Raw Vegan wall and eats animals to survive

A video interview shows David Wolfe admitting to eating live ants and moths to get vital nutrition his body needs to survive. These are the times we are waiting for, the raw vegan gurus one by one falling victim to their own raw vegan dogma of not wanting to “hurt” animals by not eating them. David Wolfe hits the raw vegan wall at last.

It should be obvious to raw vegan followers that long term raw veganism is NOT about you achieving the best health possible. Long term raw veganism is about loving animals more than yourself. Long term raw veganism is about shunning your own humanity that humans are a largely carnivorous species and forcing yourself to not consume animal sourced nutrition… going down to eating solely raw fruits, raw vegetables, raw nuts to live.

I myself tried raw veganism under the tutorship of Dr. Tam Mateo and his wonderful raw vegan recipes. Sure it was cheap. Sure it cleansed me out. But 2 months was all I could survive on. I couldn’t let myself lose weight until I got blown away by the wind. Long term raw veganism causes MALNUTRITION. After 2 months I’d had enough of raw veganism. Eating cooked animal food was better than NO ANIMAL FOOD.

Of course later on I found out that RAW ANIMAL FOOD was the NUMBER 1 SUPER FOOD of all time, which has given me the best health I have ever had in my entire life.

So David Wolfe eats live ants and live moths. Give it a little more time and we will see David Wolfe admitting to finally eating fatty raw grass fed beef. What good are his raw vegan endorsements riches if he succumbs to illness huh?

The best revolution of the raw food movement is yet to come as more and more people realize that raw meat is the bomb. That raw veganism was just a stage they had to suffer to appreciate what it truly means to be human by eating raw meat.

Many raw vegans have realized what David Wolfe is admitting to. Many raw vegans have joined our camp, the raw paleolithic tribe at the raw paleo forum. Where we strive to achieve the best health possible. Visit www.rawpaleoforum.com

It is long way way from eating ants to consuming killing and/or consuming raw mammals, reptiles, birds, and fish. It doesn’t sound like David Wolfe hit any wall. It sounds like he is interested in ethical nutrition. Why did we start cooking meat in the first place? Probably because of the danger of eating raw meat. I have two friends who died from eating raw meat. Careful with what you are recommending…

I’ve been pescatarian raw vegan (I only eat fish) for the past 10 years and I have never found the need to climb further up the meat food chain. When I eat red meat, I can feel it sitting in my bowls for longer periods of time than other foods and I definitely feel more fatigue. I am able to maintain perfect weight, have great energy and still don’t have to eat my 2 or 4 legged animal friends on planet earth. Win – win!!! :)

I have been raw vegan for quite a while and I have PLENTY of muscle. In fact, I can gain weight quite easily. You must have not been willing to re-learn, and look beyond the last 200 000 years and see the 20 million before that. It’s okay. We are all on our own path. Good luck to you and your raw meat ways. I can run harder, faster, longer, push more weight than people 30-50 lbs heavier than me and my recovery times are almost non-existent. It is all about nutrient density. I guess you like getting high on uric acid. Peace. :)

Um. Yes maybe being a raw vegan is hard but there are plenty of vegans who are just fine. I mean I have friends who don’t eat meat for religious reasons and none of their family eat meat either – also just fine.

I too attempted to live in optimal health on the raw vegan diet all while continuing to perform as an elite athlete. I nearly DIED….seriously! I was given the book “We want to Live” so read it then met Aajonus V. He literally saved my life. As I listened to him speak and followed up on his researches…he was exactally correct in what he taught and continues to teach. I followed the raw primal diet for nearly 3 mo. but found it too extreme just as the raw vegan diet is.
I developed what I call the “Retro-Raw” life style and diet plan…the life style includes much physical activity as well…just as our ancestors did with hunting/gathering etc. Retro-Raw is a 75-80% organic raw diet that includes dairy, eggs and free ranging meats…it is a happy marriage of the raw vegan and raw primal allowing for 25% heated foods such as root veggies, some grains, and perhaps a quickly seared piece of quality humanly raised meat.
anyway, I am now of optimal health and a competitive elite athlete at the age of nearly 51. I run my bootcamp here on the big Island teaching these things and providing all fitness trainings in my gym/climbing wall/ocean and pool swimming/kayak/hiking etc….

My wife and I started eating a 100% organic vegetarian diet about 20 years ago (when we were both 20) and we became totally vegan (mostly raw) a year or two later. We have continued on that diet-totally vegan about 80% raw, (mucho super foods) for the past 18 or 19 years. Here’s what happened:

We both still look about 20 years old (we both get carded regularly)-we froze essentially- and we’re both in the best shape of our lives right now. I ran the 5K in 21 minutes when I was 20. I just ran it in 16:58 yesterday.
Both of our kids (ages 13 and 6) have been organic-mostly raw, vegans from birth. The are ridiculously healthy, rarely get sick and get over colds within 24 hours when they do get sick (about once every other year) despite never having been vaccinated for anything.
Now I must say..it’s not that black and white.
Although I particularly have thrived on this diet (which includes an ABUNDANCE of raw Super Foods btw) We noticed a couple of years ago that the kids-despite being healthy- were seemingly smaller than alot of their classmates the same age. So..not wanting to be dogmatic in our beliefs and wanting optimum health for our children (though still just as desirous of completely ethical food) we decided
.. after much research..(Dr. Mercola is one interesting source for example) to incorporate organic, completely grass fed,RAW milk (from Biodynamically, humanely and lovingly raised cow’s.) into their diets. The results have been just what we hoped. In the kids and my wife in particular it’s seems to be the missing link and final piece of the puzzle for the absolute healthiest diet possible. The only caviat being that the milk (and cheese) must be RAW-ie not pasteurized or homogenized, organic and totally grass fed. Not to mention lovingly raised.

We live in Woodstock (ny) but drive an hour and a half up to Harlemville n.y. once a week to the Hawthorne Valley Farm Store to get our raw milk and raw cheese(not to mention a plethora of fresh organic Vegetables and fruits.) All of their cows have names and live out their entire lives on the farm (no killing). The baby cows are allowed to stay with and nurse off of their moms their whole childhoods (unlike most dairies that want all the milk for themselves for profit etc.) As it turns out, the milk is also alot healthier and nutrient dense from their suckling-but thats another story and this already too long a post. essentially though, it underscores what I’ve always known and lived to be truth-that being: that the most ethical is probably the healthiest for us and vice versa.
So hang in there veggie brothers and sisters who are trying to keep the flame. Writing this mainly for you as i don’t like the guy who wrote this mocking or chastizing the people who are the most concious about their food choices and realize the truly wholistic nature of this earth trip. Peace, Love and Light to you all, J. Flyingtree

So the message is Eat Raw Meat and Die! Not this Vegan of nearly 15 years, I too am in my 40′s 46 to be exact and look like in my late 20′s get over colds in a few days and can do 25 military push ups without much effort. It is not wise to eat animal protein knowing that it has bad cholesterol and will clog your arteries and put you at great risk of heart disease to quote Howard Lyman the president of the Humane Society and madcowboy.com “You need more cholesterol in your body as much as a drowning man needs a glass of water” you just don’t need it!

  8. Vegans4Life

Consider this for a moment, you eat raw meat and feel fantastic, of course you do since you are getting your nutrients from the raw foods, I.E. grass and shrubs etc that the animal eats, which essentially boils down to LIGHT, due to the process of photosynthesis we derive our nutrients from light that is one of the reasons that Vit. D is so important but it can derived from direct sunlight exposure. Now consider this you feel great because you are eating what you believe is safe to eat, we are eating what we eat because we know it’s safe to eat, we are just eliminating the middle man and going as close to the source I.E. light as possible. Consider this you are feeling great now, but you are eating something that has the ability to clog your arteries I.E. cholesterol you doing what we veggies call playing russian roulette with your artieries, eventually the plaque will build up to the point where you will suffer a heart attack and then you won’t feel so fantastic, but if you keep on a High Enzyme Diet you will likely live much longer and with little to no risk of heart disease so long as you don’t eat nothing but avocados , lol.

  9. Good Samaritan

Your arguments are based on false assumptions:

#1 Humans cannot consume grass. Directly. The ruminant that eats the grass is compatible with human digestion and gives humans vital nutrition.

#2 The cholesterol clogged arteries heart disease hypothesis has been debunked over and over again… it is only you die hard animal rights people who fall into this delusional trap.

It is because of your vegan mindset… aka. animal welfare first… before human health and nutrition… that makes you fall into the delusional absolutely false science of the cholesterol scam.

Educate yourself about the cholesterol scam, go to http://www.thincs.org

#3 I have absolutely no belief system. I was never superstitious nor religious. I only care what works. And raw animal foods work for me, my children, and David Wolfe… even if in his case it turns out to be live ants.

Isn’t David Wolfe a vegan idol? Don’t you get it? You vegans will soon run out of idols. They’ve all added raw animal foods to their diets. They are now technically raw paleo dieters.

  10. Good Samaritan

Tsk tsk… too blinded by the cholesterol – heart disease scam which is total B.S.

    Take a look at http://www.thincs.org

The answer to your cholesterol superstition is RAW FAT. The answer to most diseases is RAW ANIMAL FAT. Which has been denied to most humans because of the cholesterol superstition.

But it is good to know you found your vegan combination that works for you. Unfortunately for me, I did not find my vegan combination.

Fortunately for me, it is super easy for me to eat and be healthy with:
RAW ANIMAL FOODS, RAW FRUITS and some RAW VEGETABLES. It’s too easy a caveman can do it.

  11. Erica

    Seriously?
Most Raw Vegans are in it for health. They don’t consume meat because it is highly acidic. Many Raw Vegans come from a junk food vegan background. They learn about the health benefits of eating raw and transition. If it was all about animals, they’d keep consuming the junk. I think before making assumptions you should speak with vegans/raw vegans and ask them why they eat the way they do.

The guy (DW) has always been a scam, and a great salesman. He uses young fresh kids who fall in love with him and his company and then spits them out like nothing when they either realize it’s a scam or they began to compete with his spotlight. I followed his diet for many years and my b12 levels were so low they didn’t even rigester when tested! I have also confronted him over products that he sales which include highly processed ingredients such as Kombucha made with white sugar (because the maker who I also talked to said he can’t use something like raw honey because it would create an inconsistant taste for his product) and he defended it and continues to sale such products. He also drinks soy milk.

  13. Costa Rica fruit father.

David Wolfe was a fantasy vegan. He stayed with us in Costa Rica back in the late 90′s and we see him eat rice and beans that had been cooked in lard. He said ‘a bit of animal products aint gonna hurt ya!’

Using him as a vegan is like using the pope as a celebat.

    Hi Good Samaritan

Veganism is not about loving animals more than your self, it’s about respecting the life of sentient beings such as your self. Vegetarianism or veganism is a life style not a religion, I’m right, your wrong type attitude doesn’t work. Their is one human blood type that needs animal protein and that just may be yours since you feel better eating animals.

If you are interested you should research that to be more informed, that way your next article will be a little more credible.

    Peace

  15. Thomas M

I think that your basic problem with being a vegan is that you’re a wimp that had very little commitment to what you set out to do.

  16. Good Samaritan

Hey Thomas, the whole point of trying different diets is to see WHAT WORKS. To see WHAT CURES. To see WHAT MAKES YOU HEALTHIEST.

Raw vegan DID NOT make me healthy. And I followed my vegan teacher Dr. Tam to the letter of his recipes.

While when I did RAW PALEO DIET, even without strict recipes, everything fit like a glove and it is SOOO EASY even a caveman can do it. And I am in the best of health in my entire life.

    It’s all about RESULTS.

Just and update – 40 years old (41 next month) and am now running the 5k in 15:30 and two weeks ago ran the mile in 4:07!

20 years organic vegan/superfood diet. 80% raw. last 1 1/2 years have incorporated RAW organic grass fed milk from humanely raised cows. We will continue with the raw milk until my kids have fully grown. David Wolfe is a national treasure btw and don’t believe otherwise.

I must say I agree with nearly every single word that is written above (by the people’s comments in feedback, not you). Not only is your argument misleading and untrue but you don’t have enough facts to make any justification over your statements. Raw Foodists and those alike are looking to achieve true nutrition, longevity and vibrant vitality through the foods they put into their bodies. David Wolfe eating live moths and ants doesn’t prove anything more than you saying raw animal food is making your life optimal. Animal flesh is acidic and filled with uric acid- so please have fun enjoying weak tensile strength, poor digestion, acidic blood, and the many other things it will do to your body.

    Cheers!

  20. DurianDoll

Last I read David Wolfe is consuming raw dairy. I think one day he will have a heart attack. He supposedly only sleeps 3/4 of an hour a day. That is just too little sleep for anyone. I doubt he will live to a ripe old healthy age at the rate he is going. That’s just unhealthy to me.

  21. Good Samaritan

How can I verify this rumor? Link?

  22. DurianDoll

These products contain animals parts. Also he is selling colostrum on his site which is an animal product. So he is not vegan or even vegetarian anymore.

You say you cant live without meat because we are largely carnivorous. What about 30%-40% of India? You say you’re eating raw meat with amazing health benefits? I’d be careful with that, there’s this thing called e. coli and another, salmonella. Seriously though be safe. I do agree that David Wolfe may be a business man foremost, making him somewhat of a charlatan, but that does not discredit the information he promotes. He is not vegetarianism and health products, he is David Wolfe, some guy.

  24. Good Samaritan

    INDIANS are NOT VEGANS.
    Vegetarian Indians eat animal products:
    - eggs
    - milk
    - milk products

So the entire argument with indians being vegan is FALSE.
