I have read similar information online before. As you say, return animals back to their natural diets and a lot of the health issue just slip away. Unfortunately too many vested interest (vets, pet food companies) mean that this simple information will never be widely distributed or will be treated as old wives tales. But it makes perfect sense.

And it also would probably make a lot of sense for us too. I am trying to cut down on refined foods myself. Funny that a lot of the time we get told to cut down on how much meat we eat and how bad it is for us. But in many parts of the world where there are nomads that live in harsh climates, they survive on nothing more than meat and milk, and they get most of their nutrients from those, with no visible ill effect. We need to cut down on what we eat that comes from a factory, how many of our health issue result from additives and preservatives, and things to make them go further and taste nicer.
