About Uric Acid High Readings and Cooked Meat Paleo Diet

I answered a query on cavemanforum.com why this new cooked paleo diet practitioner has about uric acid readings turned out high from eating a cooked paleo diet:

I’ve been doing paleo (basically Cordain-style, not much fat) for two weeks and just did some blood tests to see what effect it’s having on me. I usually take a daily pill due to having higher than desirable uric acid and also take omega 3 supplements to lower trigylcerides. I found my triglycerides are down but my uric acid is up. What’s with that? Has anyone else had that experience and can I expect it will come down again as my body gets more used to this way of eating? PS I plan to add a bit more fat into my diet due to having some mental fuzziness. Not sure what if any effect that would have on the uric acid.

This is a very clear issue for me. About uric acid and cooked meat paleo diet.

In my healing experience, high uric acid readings is caused by eating foods that results with the kidneys being overloaded. Too much cooked protein / raw protein… not enough fat / low fat… eating seeds, beans, legumes, NUTS. Eating too much cooked animal foods… especially too much cooked LEAN animal foods. The body can’t process those LEAN proteins without enough FAT to balance things. too much raw protein is hard enough… but too much COOKED protein is worse.

If all your animal food is cooked to the core… you need to eat less of the lean and more of the FAT.

And this explains why when you eat meat it must be HIGH FAT.

About uric acid and to stress my point even further: A low fat diet is insanely wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. You want to take care of your kidneys. You don’t want to do dialysis, you don’t want gout. You will have to eat high fat. Fat cares, nourishes and lubricates your kidneys.
