My grandma goes to her eye doctor, is given more drugs

June 21, 2008 by Good Samaritan

Strange, my grandma called me Friday after 5pm saying she wanted me to take her Saturday morning to the UST hospital to see Dr. Noel Chua, her eye doctor.

I said, yes, I am available Saturday morning for you, but I will call UST Hospital first and verify Dr. Chua will be scheduled to have his clinic there in the morning and in what room he is in.  Why?  Because grandma, it has been many years since you last saw that doctor so we are not sure if he stays in the same hospital, same room, same schedule.

So I called UST hospital and after being passed 3 times found out that Dr. Noel Chua no longer holds office in UST.  I asked the eye center but they said Dr. Chua only sends patients and does not hold clinic there anymore.  So I asked where he held clinic, the woman said she didn’t know.  She told me to try calling at 8am Saturday morning when regular staff are at work since it is after 5pm.

So I told my grandma through her nannie that I had to call at 8am first and then in the morning I will call you.  So Saturday morning I called and none of the staff can point to which hospital Dr. Chua now works in.  I called my grandmothers Nannie, luckily, their cook remembers that the last time she remembers they went to St. Luke’s Hospital.  Good one for the cook.

Then, I called St. Luke’s and found Dr. Noel Chua there who holds office at room 114 in the Medical Arts Building.  MWF 9-12.  MTThSat 2-5pm.

As I was explaining this to the Nannie, we got cut off as my grandma was shouting at the Nannie to talk to me.  My grandma told me she wanted instead to go to her optometrist at another location she remembers.  She couldn’t hear me.  It was a one way conversation and I kept asking her for me to speak with the nannie.  But it seems the nannie got fed up and left her.  So I called back and told the nannie not to leave us hanging like that as she knows my grandmother is almost DEAF on the telephone.  I finished my explanation that I had found THE EYE DOCTOR, that there was no need to go to a mere optometrist.

So this Saturday 2pm the doctor Noel Chua will be there.  Good for my grandma, their driver Chris was available so off she went with her nannie.

My grandma’s complaint… you have to delve into WHY all of a sudden she wants to see her eye doctor, is that now she is feeling dizzy (nahihilo) and it may be her eyes, maybe her glasses need adjusting.

I asked the nannie what happened after the visit.  She said the doctor Noel Chua said her eyeglasses were fine and that they DID NOT need adjusting.  Instead he prescribed new drugs.  I asked the nannie what those drugs were, but she said she could not read the handwriting on the prescription.  I said to text me the drug names after you bought the drugs in the drug store.  She said they were buying tomorrow.  I asked why tomorrow when the driver was already driving them right now.  She said they forgot her senior citizen’s discount card at home for the 20% discount.  I said gasoline costs so much more today you should buy now while on the way home.  She said they will buy tomorrow.

In the meantime I don’t know what those additional drugs are.  I don’t know if that doctor asked and would have found out that my grandmother is back to taking ALL of her old drugs again care of the heart doctor and these 2 drugs will be adding more to that already full cocktail.

Well, how about the real possibility that taking again all those drug cocktails is the cause of her being dizzy (nahihilo)?

If you look at my documentation of her prescription drugs at http://www.myhealthblog.org/2008/06/09/my-grandmother-is-sick-because-of-her-drugs-my-grandmother-is-dying-because-of-her-drugs/

You will see that the drugs she takes: Isordil, Plendil, Sinemet, Fosamax, Dolacet are ALL CAUSES of HILO / DIZZINESS or light headedness.  Her HILO only started again when she started taking ALL THOSE RX drugs last week.  Bulls eye. The reason is those drugs prevent her heart from beating as it should to supply her with enough blood / oxygen / nutrients to her brain.  But because the druggers are more concerned with artificial reduction of blood pressure while doing NOTHING to improve circulation… my grandma is suffering even more.  Remember she declined taking my cayenne tincture, she declined taking gingko biloba.  What is a mere grandchild hobby healer to do?  Drug companies win.

Tut tut… I’m no longer in charge here, fans.  I’m just the scribe, historical recorder.  I just support my grandmother with directory assistance, nutritious food and drink.  I also provide 2 cayenne tincture bottles for emergencies with instructions to stuff into my grandma’s mouth for emergencies.  Grandma’s sister is in charge now.  I’ll just have to tell her the additional drugs the eye doctor loaded on my grandmother so she can tell her heart doctor.

My grandma’s date with the heart doctor was delayed from Saturday to Monday.  I hope he manages her drug cocktails.

My 3 year old girl begins parasite cleansing using Barefoot’s dewormer

June 21, 2008 by Good Samaritan

This morning my girl just told me during breakfast that when she just pooped she saw 5 worms and they were moving.  She described the length at some 5 inches.  Now I’m the kind of parent who believes in what my children say.  If a child says she saw worms, they are worms.

So I said we must start on the “sip don’t gulp” dewormer of Barefoot Herbalist MH.  “Sip don’t gulp” is what we call the dewormer.  It tastes good and the 2 older brothers enjoyed the sipping.

Dosage at this age is 1/2 teaspoon in 1/4 cup of water stirred… sip… don’t gulp…. morning and evening.

Today marks the first day and the first time my 3 year old will be dewormed.  The 2 boys already finished their turn a few months ago and also did humaworm.com deworming a year ago.

Looking at my calendar, my little girl should finish deworming by July 20.  There is just enough in the last bottle of the dewormer for her.  Must order more deworming bottles.

These can be used for emergencies.  Especially for those who are diagnosed with cancer.

I begin Barefoot Herbalist’s Kidney and Pancreas Cleanse Herbs

June 21, 2008 by Good Samaritan

Since I have Barefoot’s herbs, I better start using them.  The dosage for the kidney cleanse herbs is 1 full teaspoon every bedtime 6 days a week for 6 weeks.

So let’s mark today Saturday night as my start.  This means Friday evenings I won’t be taking this.

I just took my first dose.  Wow, powerful alcohol stuff used there.  I’m wondering 1 teaspoon can get me drunk.  Nah… I don’t think so.

Barefoot says the kidneys are the hardest working organs in the body, they fail before all symptoms are ever felt.  The 2 million plus cells of each kidney need to be kept free flowing for best results.

Maybe I should nourish my kidneys as well by eating yummy goat kidneys too.  Why am I taking these herbs when I’ve done avocado leaves tea lots of times and coconut juice?  Why not?  I’m pretty sure these herbs address some other angle of kidney health the others do not.

Looking at my calendar, I should finish these herbs by August 2.

Great.  I’m on Homo Optimus Diet plus kidney cleansing herbs, what a great combination.

What it means to be cured forever

June 21, 2008 by Good Samaritan

Recently, the cancer patient I helped last year was peeing blood again.  Seems he was shy or ashamed to call up.  I heard about it through rumors so I called him up directly and he said that happened 12 days ago.  Uh huh… so why didn’t he call for help?

So I asked him the important question.  I thought you were on the healthy raw vegan diet anti cancer diet?  He answered that the healthy diet was too expensive so he slipped back to his “normal”, rice based diet.  Meaning the usual low fat, high carb and mostly cooked diet.  Images of Christmas 2007 came flashing through my mind when he at Christmas lunch in the party and he ate rice, lean cooked pork and softdrinks.  So if I count from that time, he has been doing everything wrong again for 6 months.  Slipping back to the normal suicidal dietary habits.

So what was wrong with the christmas meal?  Everything was cooked dead.  Rice as a source of energy is starchy and spikes up your blood sugar.  Do this 3 times a day and your blood sugar level spikes up and down 3 times a day.  The pork he ate was lean.  If you are going to be eating animal foods, it should be fatty.  Eating lean animal meats is just plain wrong and will cause over consumption of protein.  Softdrinks are manufactured products.  Along with the pollutants of manufacturing and the pollutants of the ingredients itself and again, the high sugar content.  Totally unforgiveable.  You pay eventually.

So what does it mean to be cured forever?

For me it means whatever disease you had, it is never coming back and your state of health only gets better each month, each year.  Why?  Because now you do know the real score in truth in health and you actually do the things you are supposed to be doing.

In the diet department you are not going to be going on those “normal” low fat, high carb diets or those high protein fads.  The diets that work are raw, mostly raw, high fat, low protein, low or medium carb diets.  Take your pick.  Raw vegan, raw fruitarian, wai diet, raw paleo, cooked paleo, homo optimus diet, etc. etc.

In the pollution avoidance department, your lifestyle will have changed.  Don’t use toothpaste, don’t shampoo, don’t soap, don’t use deodorant, don’t use alcohol, don’t use powder, don’t use perfume.  If ever on the rare occassion you need to, you have a natural product you actually know what is in it.

In the nurturing department, you have changed the way you live, the way you work, your relationships have bloomed.

In short, your whole way of living must be turned upside down, inside out, a 180 degrees or so to somewhere truly better than what you were doing from where you were sick.

Slide back  to your old destructive habits?  You get the same destructive results!

Sure there are unknowns when you venture in a different direction, but it we are consciously adjusting now along the way.  To be cured forever is to be smart and conscious of everything you do.

Trying to eat enough fats for Homo Optimus Diet proportions

June 19, 2008 by Good Samaritan

I decided to try to find enough fats without the aid of eggs this week for this low carb high fat diet I’m on.  Plain, unseasoned pork tastes bland.  I like beef better.  But I can see one can go on Homo Optimus Diet on commercial foods.  Say in the commercial canteens, there is always fatty pork.  Problem is the commercial canteens soak up the pork in so much flavorings it is meant to be eaten with rice.  And rice is a no no on this diet.

I like the natural flavor of pure beef whether raw or cooked.  Bulalo soup this afternoon was good.  I added turmeric powder and my cayenne tincture to the soup to jazz it up with nutrition.

I still like raw beef way better.  I like raw marrow better.

I also found it convenient to have raw pili nuts available.  Raw pili is mostly fat, more fat than macadamia nuts they say.  My wife also brought home roasted cashews.  You have to toast them for 3 minutes so the molds will go away since they are plastic packed.  Raw coconut meat is another fat I can depend on and we never run out of it unlike pili nuts that have to come from the province.

I’m missing my tasteful fruits though.  Fruit variety is a tasteful small treat.  Not something to gorge on like while on raw fruitarian.  For hydration I still use coconut juice and the soup.  Cooked fat is hydrating.  After 2 days on these cooked meats I’ve not found hydration cravings yet.

What do I feel?  Full.  Too full.  Stuffed.  Fat stuffed.  Careful not to eat too much fat,  or you feel like puking.

My grandma was looking for epsom salts to dip her legs in

June 18, 2008 by Good Samaritan

Odd text message from my grandma’s nannie the other day.  She said she was in the Cubao area and needed to know where to buy epsom salts.  So I told her the epsom salts were either in Healthy Options in the malls or in the factory at Alysons Chemicals.

I thought my grandmother wanted it for pooping.  Turns out the nannie said my grandmother wanted it for dipping her legs.

Oh yeah, I taught her that trick to bring circulation to her legs, epsom salts then hot cold, hot cold.  A long time ago.

So this morning I bought her 2 kilograms of epsom salts in the factory after sending the kids to school.  The trick is getting the epsom salts to her.  I called the nannie to take a train and meet me at the mc donald’s on quezon avenue station.  When she has the time, just text me.  Whether it is me or the driver when the kids are at school.  So the ball is in their hands.

If she wants circulation, my cayenne tincture can give her circulation.  Just one dropperful every hour will get your blood circulating real good.  Unfortunately she refused cayenne tincture every time I offered it to her.  I said it was the best.  But the hot taste she says she cannot take.  Oh well, as Dr Schulze said, “if you don’t want the heat of cayenne than you can stay sick.”  My cayenne tincture is popular at home.  My wife, her brother and sisters, her mother.  Cayenne tincture lovers.  Why?  Because it works.

All out experiment on Homo Optimus Diet

June 18, 2008 by Good Samaritan

The Optimal Diet is a dietary model of human nutrition devised and implemented by Dr. Jan Kwasniewski of Poland more than 30 years ago.

After my 3 day orange juice fast, having reset my innards, I’m ready to test the Homo Optimus Diet in earnest. The concept is very simple. 1 part protein, 2.5 to 3.5 parts fat, and 0.8 parts carbs.

Paring down carbs is easy for me since I don’t eat starchy foods, just fruits. So I just cut that down to the minimum.

I’m already used to raw animal foods so I will have to sacrifice a little and cook some of the animal foods suggested. Like pork. But I’m not cooking my organic eggs, nor my beef sirloin. I will cook beef broth bones and some suet for soups but I like eating my bone marrow raw.

The change here is I will drastically cut down on fruit consumption. I like fruits. Also the large quantity and proportion of fat.  It is easier for me to just say 1 is to 3 by visual cure.  We will see how this Homo Optimus Diet runs on my body.

For those afraid of fats and cholesterol…. don’t be. It’s a myth. Be afraid of grains, beans, potatoes and nightshades. I got cayenne tincture with me. Lots of it.

They say Homo Optimus Diet makes you thirsty.  Hmmm… if you cook your food with spices.  In any case, I have coconut juice standing by as well.
