Post Intussusception diet plan for 8 year old boy

May 15, 2010 by Good Samaritan

It’s May 15 and cousins are in the compound. Our 8 year old boy who just miraculously got cured last May 12 early morning of intussusception is all healthy as if nothing happened to him. He runs and jumps and plays with his siblings and cousins. I ask if there was any hint of pain inside his guts and he says there is none at all.

Now for some discipline in eating: Diet is the most important guide to be followed in the post intussusception recovery protocol. Diet is everything.

The guide: only easy to digest, raw animal foods and special vegetables and specific foods:

For fruits: (if it is not in this list, it is not approved)

  • Duhat and Star Apple / Kayumito (these are gut healing fruits)
  • Coconut juice and coconut meat
  • Durian
  • Watermelon
  • calamansi as condiment for sashimi

For vegetables, fully boiled, intestine healing:

  • saluyot
  • alugbati
  • okra – he likes this

For carbs:
organic white rice with lots of ghee (clarified butter) in half “sinangag”
(this is carb + fat)

For meat:

  • raw animal foods, must be totally raw, no heating whatsoever
  • sashimi fish, raw beef, raw horse
  • raw eggs

The child cannot afford putrefying cooked animal food in his guts as he is currently taking antibiotics for amoeba which means lack of bacteria in his gut to digest cooked meat. Putrefying cooked meat may possibly harm his injured colon. Raw meat digests effortlessly in the stomach.

For condiments:

  • sea salt (a little)
  • calamansi

His diet must wind up being high fat. Get from coconut fat, ghee, raw animal fat.
His diet must be hydrating.
This combination will give effortless pooping.

There will be no food combining. He will eat mono meals. Must be spaced 1 hour apart at least.

If it is not on the list do not feed it to him.

He must eat only what is on the list.

This is meant to be posted in the kitchen for all adults in the household to see and follow.

Intussusception Cured. Avoided Surgery. It’s A “Miracle.” One for the Books.

May 15, 2010 by Good Samaritan

We are home. Our 8 year old boy is home. Just the morning before his scheduled surgery for intussusception on May 12, 2010, our boy woke up to no more tummy pain, no more bleeding, he was up walking and doing normal things, laughing, playing, a total “miraculous” cure. All medical tests were done to verify this “miraculous” recovery including x-ray and ultrasound and blood tests and all showed absolutely normal — fixed. One resident doctor said she had never seen an episode like this recovery. The head doctor said: “This is one for the books.” 🙂 🙂 🙂Continue Reading

Freshman Masculine Wash: “Because Men Need to Feel Fresh and Clean Too!”

May 13, 2010 by Good Samaritan

We are building the website of a new customer and I found it amazing they had a new product in the market called: Freshman Masculine Wash. First thing that came to mind was Freshman College. Wrong. They mean Fresh MAN. Now what about that “Masculine Wash?”, I thought this was soap for MEN. Wrong again. This is soap for down there… you know like “feminine wash”, this time, it is MASCULINE WASH… you know for men’s private parts… oh, I get it.

Here’s their press release:

MEN NEED TO BE FRESH TOO!

Nowadays, men live a very active lifestyle. They engage themselves in a lot of sports activities as a way to de-stress from their very hectic career life. And naturally, men like to sweat a lot. But the question is, with all these sweaty activities, how do men refresh? Shower, Yes? But how can men get that ultimate fresh feeling? ‘Coz soaps alone won’t do the job.

Jovan is a regular cyclist. It’s his ultimate sports and he likes to bike around the metro during weekends and time-outs from work. “Cycling has been a part of my lifestyle, and I enjoy a little bit of running too. Almost all guy friends that I know enjoy cycling and running as an alternative workout in the gym.” Feeling all-sweaty has never been an alien feeling for a cyclist and a runner like Jovan. It’s part of the sports and he actually likes it. “Perspiring actually reminds you that you are shedding the pounds and fats that you want to lose so it’s okay. The more I perspire, the better.”

Now here comes the dilemma! Like Jovan, a lot of men are convinced that soaps alone can help you regain that fresh feeling, but we need to be informed that men too, need an intimate hygiene wash! Having that self-confidence and boost is important for men nowadays, and they tend to develop that feeling when they are “clean” and “fresh” all over. They feel “younger” and “more energetic” when they are “cool”. And having that “cool” feeling on men’s private parts has actually a scientific benefit!

According to research and doctors, having that 20% cooling feeling in men’s intimate areas can actually help them preserve the life span of their sperm and increase the number of counts required. Sperms are destroyed and definitely become low in counts when the intimate parts are much warmer than the body temperature.

So, giving men’s intimate parts some “cool”, “clean” and “refreshing” treat, is not just a feeling after all. It can also help men do wonders for their reproductive process! Now men don’t have to worry about soaps.
Freshman Masculine Wash has arrived!

It’s a masculine wash that thoroughly cleans unlike an ordinary soap! The product’s active ingredient, Tea Tree Oil, properly moisturizes the skin, neutrally balanced at ph7 making it gentle on the skin. It gives you that cool, fresh feeling that lasts all day!

It eliminates and protects the male genitals from germs that cause unwanted odor and itchiness! For minor scrapes and wounds, the masculine wash aids the immune system in the healing produces. Freshman Masculine Wash has also been dermatologically tested for proper intimate hygiene.

Freshman Masculine Wash is already available in the market for the suggested retail price of 79 pesos per bottle.

‘Cause men need to feel fresh, clean and cool too!

Intussusception caused by Instant Noodles that caused LBM and dehydration: May be Fatal to our Son

May 12, 2010 by Good Samaritan

Our eldest boy is in our care in a big hospital receiving whatever treatments we judge as appropriate and may save his life.  I have no time to post a blog about this right now.  It is life or death.  Let those instant noodles be da**ed and go to he**.  These are the dangers when children visit other households.

Our boy has been suffering since Saturday as posted in my previous blog, the next day was horrific non-stop pain.

Finally a no dye CT Scan shows Intussusception.  Which is possibly fatal.  We are doing the best we can with what limited window of time to save / cure my son.  Please wish us luck and send your prayers.

Loose Bowel Movement due to Instant Noodles

May 9, 2010 by Good Samaritan

This evening our 8 year old boy was complaining he had loose bowel movement, that his tummy was in pain, the whole thing.  Time to investigate the probably cause.  What did you and your siblings have for lunch?  I know I dropped them off at their cousins’ house.  All they could say was they had rice and “soup”.

I had to call up their cousins’ house, ask the maid.  So what did my kids have for lunch at their place?  Maid said “mami”, “instant mami”, what brand? “Lu**y M*.”

What?  My children ate total junk food?  Holy crap!  Crap indeed!  No wonder our 8 year old boy was crapping like crazy, his tummy doesn’t like that stuff.  His tummy is not familiar with that junk.

First aid.  Wife gets 2 small latundan bananas to solidify the poops and some water melon for hydration.

I was preparing the barefoot dewormer in case there was some poisoning but it seems after finding out the culprit, there is no need for the dewormer.

Lesson learned is not to trust kids’ meals like that.  “Instant mami noodles” is irresponsible junk food which is unfit for our children’s consumption.

Explanation: our 8 year old boy’s intestines recognized the “instant mami noodles” as junk and proceeded to crap it out pronto.

Live Small Raw Squid for Lunch

May 9, 2010 by Good Samaritan

I was lucky to find some live small raw squid in the Malabon City wet market. I was on my usual trip to buy horse meat then checked out their sea food section. The lady said they had these live and fresh items due to boat men parking on their dock. You can identify if the squid is still alive if the colors on its skin are still changing / rippling. In fishing towns, people have the notion that they should only buy live shellfish, live crabs, live squid… they are not fresh when dead.

The live squid was an enticing offer. I popped one in my mouth and it tasted great. So I bought what was there, just 1.1 kilos left. Got it for 280 pesos. Not cheap.

At home, preparation was:

  • Wash with water.
  • Get a dipping bowl for real natural vinegar.
  • Dip squid a few seconds just to “clean” it due to handling in the market.
  • Eat.
  • Show your nice black tongue.
  • My 5 year old girl found this delicious and fun with me.

I must have eaten around 400 grams of squid until I was full.  Just like the other meats I have.  Pretty good.  If I chance upon live squid again, I will buy it.  This method of eating by dipping in vinegar is what the market lady suggested.

Effective Rechargeable Electric Mosquito Swatter

May 8, 2010 by Good Samaritan

My wife is having so much fun with her new rechargeable electric mosquito swatter.  It sure beats killing mosquitoes by hand.  The success rate is higher and the satisfaction is when you hear the mosquito crackle and pop under the electric wires.

My wife doesn’t have to swat so hard.  Wherever the mosquito is flying, just turn it on and bring the swatter over to that general direction, the erratic mosquito flying pattern will hit it.

Along with our outdoor electric mosquito killer, this hand held battery operated device has probably killed hundreds and hundreds of mosquitoes which otherwise would have bitten us and our kids.

Mosquitoes are our tropical challenge, it seems these electronic gadgets are the way to go.  No pollution, no poisoning which would poison humans as well as mosquitoes.

The rechargeable electric mosquito swatter costs only P 199 in Ace Hardware.  Careful, don’t touch it when it is on, it is painful… promise… my wife tried it.
