Toddler puts peanut in nose!

December 3, 2006 by goodsamaritan

We had just come home after watching fireworks at the SM Mall of Asia.  We were having a late dinner.  My 3 year old boy suddenly comes up to me with tears in his eyes asking for his nannie.

I did bring him to his nannie and told him it was nothing for him to cry over.  A few minutes later the nannie tells me that my son told her that he has a peanut stuck in is left nostril!  What?  I immediately dress up and think of sending my son to the nearest community hospital, they can poke it out with their instruments.

My wife was having a massage and I told her the situation.  She got up and had a look at our son.  Now I remember, my wife has eagle eyes, she checks on our other son when he has ear problems.  Sure enough we got a flashlight and I got the ear pick shovel we use for our older boy.  With my wife’s sharp eyesight and dextrous hands, out popped the peanut!  Whew!

I did not do these things when I was a child, neither did my brothers and sisters.  My wife says she didn’t do these things either.  Well our first son once stuck an air gun plastic  pellet up his nose, and this second son stuck a peanut up his nose!

Valuable chronic fatigue syndrome resources 1

December 3, 2006 by goodsamaritan

This is the first batch of what I believe will be a series of resources I will be posting regarding CFS.

  • Learn How Bob cured himself naturally of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome & IBS. Also see his website at www.bobmantz.com. Very interesting personal story. He went through the typical nightmare of all those clueless western pharmaceutical doctors until he stumbled on the real healers, the natural kind.
  • Earth Clinic – Folk Remedies and Cures has a good take on chronic fatigue syndrome.
  • A Garden Web forum post has interesting bits on chronic fatigue syndrome.

The key ingredients against CFS is that it is caused by parasites, maybe viruses, oxygenating the body works, magnesium in chloride or taurate or natural foods, vitamin E and cayenne pepper will do wonders. Thyroid affected. Amount of red blood cells affected.

I wonder which one will work for my grandma.  Do them all.

Our cook is offended when my wife orders mushroom sauce to be cooked from scratch

December 3, 2006 by goodsamaritan

Maybe the stainless steel scenario in my previous post should be taken in the context of just a few moments ago, my wife and her sister ordered the banning of the use of canned mushroom soup with the Campbell brand.  The reason? MSG! Campbell brand mushroom soup has MSG!  Horrors!

Apparently the cook felt it unreasonable for good canned soup to be thrown away, or that she has never cooked mushroom soup from scratch and see it as a bother.

Then she asks me if the Nestle branded cream is okay for use or if that should be as well.  Hmmm… I did not see that coming, because I was not privy to the campbell mushroom soup banning scene.  I only understood the whole event when I discussed the situation with my wife.

My wife says, “Let them be, they’ve got no choice.”

Anyway, my wife approved the use of the Nestle cream for the fruit salad later.

Ah the trials of trying to be healthy without offending your household help.

Our cook is offended when we replaced our aluminum cookware with stainless steel

December 3, 2006 by goodsamaritan

I was so happy coming home from the grocery, we finally got an 18/10 stainless steel pot for cooking rice and an 18/10 stainless steel frying pan with cover.  I gathered our maids, nannies and the cook for a short presentation on the new cooking utensils.  They were reluctant to even come and I had to go into their room and ask them out to the kitchen.

I read to them the instructions on the stainless steel cookware manual: Remove all labels.  Wash with soapy water.  If there are stuck food, do not use a steel wool or other abrasive material, do not use metal utensils.  I got a plastic utensil and a wooden utensil and showed them that these are the items to use.

My wife and I promptly instructed them to throw away the old aluminum pot and pan as I explained that these were dangerous to our health.   That aluminum is known to poison the brain, for example getting sick with alzheimer’s disease.

In the course of the conversation I immediately picked up their tonal disgust with what we were doing.  Probably they think the aluminum scare is full of bunk, maybe they think we are throwing away good money, maybe they are jealous that they feel doomed that their own families cannot afford to buy stainless steel cookware.

Bah some women, you can never really please them.  Maybe our cook is just suffering from menopause.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome plus Parkinsons almost bed ridden

December 2, 2006 by goodsamaritan

My grandmother has been getting weaker and weaker since March 2006. I’m not much concerned about her Parkinsons disease, I’m now more concerned about her chronic fatigue syndrome. She seems to be getting weaker to the point that she will die.

What is causing this CFS? My bet is parasites. Maybe she is having a die off of parasites and the toxins are overloading her. Maybe she does need more rest.

We are achieving good night sleeps now for 3 straight days. No meat in the evenings. Salt and water cure, virgin coconut oil, Ka Rey herbal, fish oil, brown rice and vegetables and fruits, no hot rooms, good ventilation. Maybe the parasites are ravaging her. Maybe it is a die off.

I have instructed the nannie only this afternoon to make sure Ka Rey Herbal is used as medicine, up to 90ml per dose 30 minutes before meals, make sure it is on an empty stomach, do not mix it with the other supplements.

I ordered over the internet, 1 batch of Humaworm.com parasite cleanse capsules to be taken for 30 days. If my grandmother caught this parasite from the USA in her trip last year, then maybe these USA herbs might be the ones needed to treat her.

We seem to be doing things to the letter, though she lives in a different house. Why is she still getting weaker?

Hunting all aluminum cookware

November 29, 2006 by goodsamaritan

I and my wife have gotten into the kick of replacing all our aluminum cookware.  We made one sweep a few months ago and we are doing a second sweep again.  We identified that the two electric rice cookers are aluminum.  Then the new rice cooking pot we use for the charcoal fueled stove is aluminum.  Then we see our frying pan is teflon coated.

I asked our wise old neighbor where he gets his stainless steel cookware.  He says he gets his from nearby Sta. Lucia Mall, the basement department store has lots of them.

What’s so bad about aluminum?  Aluminum is toxic to humans.  Aluminum leeches into food when the cookware is heated.  Aluminum is in anti-persperants, think about that.  That is why we have switched to using calamansi for our deodorant.

“The principal symptom of aluminum poisoning is the loss of intellectual function; forgetfulness, inability to concentrate, and in extreme cases, full blown dementia. It is also known to cause bone softening and bone mass loss, kidney and other soft tissue damage, in large doses it can cause cardiac arrest.”

The Hundred Year Lie book soon to be released

November 29, 2006 by goodsamaritan

An information bomb is about to explode. The Hundred Year Lie book by Randall Fitzgerald. The author asks “Look around and ask yourself: Why are we all so sick? What you’re about to read is all true and how it affects you is bigger than you know”

Personally, the outline sounds much like the expose of Kevin Trudeau in his book Natural Cures They Don’t want you to know. Being the slick salesman that Kevin is, some people who never even read his book are skeptical about what Kevin had to say. Well Kevin said the same things Randall Fitzgerald will be saying. It is the same thing truth in health pundits on the internet have been saying all along. I hope Fitzgerald breaks into the mass mindset and hopefully his book becomes a best seller. I see a trend, an awakening movement. I hope this succeeds.

The Hundred Year Lie book

An excerpt from their website:

The Synthetics Belief System

What links all of the preceding stories and studies is a belief system that emerged during the 20th century. Some call it a “better life through chemistry”.

But it is really a Hundred Year Lie. The lie really began in earnest in 1906, the year the U.S. Congress enacted the Pure Foods and Drugs Act, the first law of its kind that gave the public a false sense of security about the safety of its foods and medicines. As we observe the centennial of this law, it is worth putting the belief system it spawned into some historical perspective.

The synthetics revolution is a by-product of activities within three sectors of the U.S. economy — the processed foods industry, the pharmaceutical industry, and the chemical industry. These economic interests influence our diet and health from the womb to the grave. The control we give them over our lives springs directly from our acceptance of this belief system’s primary conceit — that their lab-created synthetics are as benign and more effective than naturally occurring foods and medicines.

Our indoctrination into the synthetics mythology has deep roots in an awestruck fealty to science and technology, whose powers have simultaneously blessed us and blinded us. We live in a prosperous system where the economic principles of supply and demand, competitive markets, and profit motives, relentlessly drive the industrialization of our food and medicine and healthcare.

This system has created cheaper and more plentiful food and produced a host of medical technologies (if we can afford them) that may save lives and extend lives in almost miraculous ways. But what have we overlooked, what have we sacrificed, in return?

  • At least 70 percent of the processed foods in your local grocery store contain at least one genetically engineered ingredient that has never been tested for its potential harm.
  • More than 3,000 synthetic chemicals are regularly added to U.S. food products and hardly any have been tested for their synergistic (interactive) toxin producing effects in the human body.
  • Most vitamins and supplements sold in the U.S. that are advertised as natural are actually synthetic chemical concoctions that contain coal tars, preservatives, artificial colorings and a vast range of other potentially harmful additives.
  • More than 25,000 chemicals are in the cosmetics sold in the U.S., yet less than 4 percent of these ingredients have ever been tested for toxicity and safety.
  • Within the nine or so vaccines given your children before entering school are additives and preservatives that can include mercury, aluminum, MSG, formaldehyde and others linked to disorders ranging from brain and nerve damage to autism and attention deficit disorder.
