Corn Danger Warning: French Study Shows 3 Monsanto GM Corns clearly underlines adverse impacts on kidneys and liver, the dietary detoxifying organs

January 13, 2010 by Good Samaritan

This public French study should let farmers and consumers see the light that these Monsanto GM corn varieties (GM) maize (NK 603, MON 810, MON 863) are DAMAGING to mice in a 90 day study.

According to the study’s author, the company’s own data “clearly underlines adverse impacts on kidneys and liver, the dietary detoxifying organs, as well as different levels of damages to heart, adrenal glands, spleen and haematopoietic system.”

from http://www.change.org/actions/view/get_organ-damaging_monsanto_corn_off_the_market

These genetically modified maize freaks of Monsanto most probably are dangerous to mammalian health, including livestock and humans the study concludes.

The Abstract:

We present for the first time a comparative analysis of blood and organ system data from trials with rats fed three main commercialized genetically modified (GM) maize (NK 603, MON 810, MON 863), which are present in food and feed in the world. NK 603 has been modified to be tolerant to the broad spectrum herbicide Roundup and thus contains residues of this formulation. MON 810 and MON 863 are engineered to synthesize two different Bt toxins used as insecticides. Approximately 60 different biochemical parameters were classified per organ and measured in serum and urine after 5 and 14 weeks of feeding. GM maize-fed rats were compared first to their respective isogenic or parental non-GM equivalent control groups. This was followed by comparison to six reference groups, which had consumed various other non-GM maize varieties. We applied nonparametric methods, including multiple pairwise comparisons with a False Discovery Rate approach. Principal Component Analysis allowed the investigation of scattering of different factors (sex, weeks of feeding, diet, dose and group). Our analysis clearly reveals for the 3 GMOs new side effects linked with GM maize consumption, which were sex- and often dose-dependent. Effects were mostly associated with the kidney and liver, the dietary detoxifying organs, although different between the 3 GMOs. Other effects were also noticed in the heart, adrenal glands, spleen and haematopoietic system. We conclude that these data highlight signs of hepatorenal toxicity, possibly due to the new pesticides specific to each GM corn. In addition, unintended direct or indirect metabolic consequences of the genetic modification cannot be excluded.

Here is the full conclusion and I quote:

Patho-physiological profiles are unique for each GM crop/food, underlining the necessity for a case-by-case evaluation of their safety, as is largely admitted and agreed by regulators. It is not possible to make comments concerning any general, similar subchronic toxic effect for all GM foods. However, in the three GM maize varieties that formed the basis of this investigation, new side effects linked to the consumption of these cereals were revealed, which were sex- and often dose-dependent. Effects were mostly concentrated in kidney and liver function, the two major diet detoxification organs, but in detail differed with each GM type. In addition, some effects on heart, adrenal, spleen and blood cells were also frequently noted. As there normally exists sex differences in liver and kidney metabolism, the highly statistically significant disturbances in the function of these organs, seen between male and female rats, cannot be dismissed as biologically insignificant as has been proposed by others [4]. We therefore conclude that our data strongly suggests that these GM maize varieties induce a state of hepatorenal toxicity. This can be due to the new pesticides (herbicide or insecticide) present specifically in each type of GM maize, although unintended metabolic effects due to the mutagenic properties of the GM transformation process cannot be excluded [42]. All three GM maize varieties contain a distinctly different pesticide residue associated with their particular GM event (glyphosate and AMPA in NK 603, modified Cry1Ab in MON 810, modified Cry3Bb1 in MON 863). These substances have never before been an integral part of the human or animal diet and therefore their health consequences for those who consume them, especially over long time periods are currently unknown. Furthermore, any side effect linked to the GM event will be unique in each case as the site of transgene insertion and the spectrum of genome wide mutations will differ between the three modified maize types. In conclusion, our data presented here strongly recommend that additional long-term (up to 2 years) animal feeding studies be performed in at least three species, preferably also multi-generational, to provide true scientifically valid data on the acute and chronic toxic effects of GM crops, feed and foods. Our analysis highlights that the kidneys and liver as particularly important on which to focus such research as there was a clear negative impact on the function of these organs in rats consuming GM maize varieties for just 90 days.

Money lenders should cease and desist lending to farmers growing these dangerous GM corns as there is a risk of defaults when these future crops are boycotted.

Calling all livestock growers who consume these corns, these corns may be damaging your livestock. Maybe the livestock epidemics and weaknesses are caused by BAD FOOD. This French study suggests (GM) maize (NK 603, MON 810, MON 863) are harmful to mammals in many many ways. It is time to SWITCH back to Non-GM feeds.

Calling on the public, ask your meat supplier if their animals are fed these (GM) maize (NK 603, MON 810, MON 863), petition them to stop using these GM corn and boycott those meat suppliers who still use these as animal feed.

Corn is in everything.

Think about it.

Corn oil

Corn Starch

Corn syrup

These are added to thousands of processed food products.

Pass this on, pass this on, pass this on.

Raw Beef Pictures: I consume this much raw beef fat by this much proportion

January 13, 2010 by Good Samaritan

I chanced upon another premium specimen of T-Bone beef at Farmers Market in Cubao. Should have been a lot more but I gave a quarter of this meat to my brother. We had this for lunch yesterday at the market never frozen. Asked the butcher to make into sashimi around 1/2 kilo for the two of us to consume for lunch.

I also like this beef when it is in the chiller portion of the refrigerator, that in between space between the freezer and the refrigerator compartments. This had blood collect in it for 1 day. Good 1/4 cup of it. The fat coming in from the cold like this is creamy butter, actually tastier than the Anchor butter that is available to me.

I took pictures of this raw beef “striploin” part to show you how much raw yellow fat there is on this meat. We call this live fat. “Buhay”. Unlike the fat around the kidneys which does not taste good we call “Tulog” or asleep… that doesn’t taste good. But I think the fat around the kidneys is what people use to render into pemmican? Help me out paleo friends…

Can you guys tell me what % fat this is by calories? By volume? I never did “get” those measurements right. I like relying on my taste buds at the moment. Like instinct.

I did not consume all of this in one sitting. Usually 1 pound or more is a good amount for me at a major meal like lunch or dinner.

Raw Squid: “Itlugan” / “with eggs” for dinner

January 13, 2010 by Good Samaritan

I chanced upon some super fresh raw squid in Marikina Market around 5pm last night. These squid were “itlugan” / “with eggs”, not easy to find and you really have to pick them. Pick the lumpy ones and take a peak if they have eggs. Pick the squid yourself or the market vendor will be “fair” and give you some with eggs and some with no eggs.

My announcement at dinner came with a WOW from the 2 younger kids who forgot about their cooked dinner. Good timing. They had their fill of raw squid with the raw eggs and raw fat inside. They liked tentacles too.

They aren’t into eating the ink yet so the head and the ink were moved to the refrigerator with the batch to be cooked for the kids’ lunch pack the next day.

It was mission accomplished this evening. A raw dinner for the kids.

Graduating from herbal colon cleansers and colonics

January 11, 2010 by Good Samaritan

Have you tried any form of colon cleansing? Have you tried colonics / colon hydrotherapy? Or even better, those colon cleansers like Colosan or Oxypowder or Dr. Tam’s Miracle Tea? Did you know that colon constipation is the top cause of diseases? Did you know you can graduate… advance your health to a higher level where you do not need any colon cleansing aids for years and years?

I’ve done it. From a sluggish colon to an active colon that works daily in the mornings. This is how I did it.

My first encounter with detoxing the colon was with colon hydrotherapy. Expensive full 5 course session costing 15,000 pesos. When we discovered Dr. Tam’s Miracle Tea, at 1,500 pesos per bottle I now can vouch that it is more powerful and more effective than colon hydrotherapy… cheaper too.

Then I enrolled in Barefoot Herbalist MH’s school and he said that Dr. Christopher’s Lower Bowel Balance capsules re-trained people’s colon so that it restored the colon muscles. I took these LBBs for 2 months and yes it did do that job.

I then learned through my fruitarian experience that my colon moved effortlessly. Then I learned through raw paleo diet that raw fat moves bowels also effortlessly but which was better was my stools were now solid and moving.

Then I learned about optimal sitting. That squatting was the nature prescribed way of pooping. Unfortunately I grew up in Manila with toilet bowls so I adjusted my pooping style by sitting as if squatting at the edge and sometimes twisting my body.

I learned that if I had enough hydration in my body with hydrating fruits and lots of raw fat in a high fat low carb raw paleo diet, I moved my colon effortlessly. I learned that if I ate on schedule, my body could be trained to poop on cue.

Every morning we would have some hydrating fruit like watermelons, melons or papayas. I do not choose sugar bomb fruits. These hydrating fruit also cause me to move. The pressure built up around 6:30am allows me to move my bowels a bit later or even later in the morning at the office.

Then I learned that I should learn to move my bowels wherever whenever. No more queasiness that I should only move at home. Where was pooping home? Everywhere and anywhere. Learn how to poop in the office, get a good toilet seat. See to it I have toilet paper in my pack, my office, my car. That I can just push down my pants and boom, learn to wipe with just toilet paper if a water dipper is not available. No sweat.

Daily relief is such a great feeling. Always clean.

The 108 year old health guy at Age Less Live More says his #1 most important tip is to keep the colon moving. Those colonics and herbal colon cleansers are not natural and not without any possible side effects. So the less we depend on them, the better.

I am glad to be on a raw paleo diet so now I am above the fray of colon cleansing tools. Not that I am dismissing them altogether now, I will use them in the future when the time comes that I will need them… but not now and not in the near future.

Good luck with your cleanses. You will graduate soon enough when you learn enough about your own body and what makes you tick.

Wife’s tummy pain / suspected amoebiasis not quite over, orders herbal colon cleanser

January 11, 2010 by Good Samaritan

So I thought wrong that my wife’s tummy pain was over. She suspects it was amoebiasis, protozoan infection? The overman zapper significantly reduced the pain. But not quite fully well yet. Yesterday late afternoon she asked me to pick up a bottle of Dr. Tam’s Miracle Tea, a powerful herbal colon cleanser.

Lucky for a maid who has not pooped in 3 days, the herbal colon cleanser just came at the right time for her. Now my wife is just waiting for her time to poop things out this morning.

Will it all be gone?

As a side note, yesterday she ordered a Terminator Zapper from Don Croft at www.worldwithoutparasites.com we lost our zapper in the great flood last September. My wife likes this zapper because it is portable and it works really well for her.

I know she will also be ordering 4 bottles of dewormer from www.barefootherbalistmh.com

Yes, as I was explaining to my very dear friend yesterday, we are very well aware of parasites and are armed to the teeth against the bugs when and if they misbehave.

My 2 years on raw paleo diet eating lots of raw meat everyday has been a no parasite issue thing. And to think I had parasites before I ventured into a raw meat diet. Maybe going on a raw meat diet made my body strong and expels parasites in a symbiotic manner. Barefoot herbalist MH explains that his dewormer works by strengthening the liver so that it expels the parasites. Maybe being on a raw meat diet is being on a deworming diet?

Pineapple tasted like medicine today, was voted out of the breakfast table

January 10, 2010 by Good Samaritan

Yesterday my mother in law bought a pineapple from Rustans supermarket. The label said Dizon Farms Honey Gold Pineapple Naturally Ripened Very Sweet Export Quality. It tasted awful. Tasted like medicine.

There were 4 of us who tasted the the pineapple this breakfast:

Pic said – tastes good
Edwin said – tastes like medicine
Arlene said – tastes like medicine
Jean said – tastes like medicine

So for 3 out of 4 people in the household, this pineapple tasted like medicine. We decide to throw the pineapple out to the trash can.

Maybe this was a bad piece? A bad batch? We will get some other pineapple next time and see.

Persistent Kidney Stones Cure Testimonial on Raw Paleo Diet

January 9, 2010 by Good Samaritan

Frenchman code named Alphagruis shared his kidney stone cure experience in the raw paleo forum. It is just one of those things that happen to people while on a fully raw paleolithic diet of raw fruits, raw vegetables and raw meat.

During the period 1984-1999 I’ve repeatedly expelled kidney stones and experienced numerous episodes of nephretic colics. As shown by regular scans ( every 6-12 months) new stones formed systematically…

The stones stopped in 1999 after I had changed my diet to raw paleo in december 1998. Six months after beginning raw paleo the scans showed that no new stones had formed for the first time after 15 years…

I’m stone-free ever since.

Very impressive

from: http://www.rawpaleoforum.com/hot-topics/common-criticisms-directed-at-paleo-diet-proponents/msg24043/#msg24043

So I asked Alphagruis his entire story:

I am so very interested in this personal achievement of yours Alphagruis. Do you have a prepared story / press release / article about your kidney stone cure with raw paleo diet?

What form of raw paleo diet did you start on and are doing now and for how long?

How much raw meat, how much raw fat, which animals, which vegetables, which fruits.

Please tell….

Alphagruis responded with:

Well, Goodsamaritan, I’m afraid it’s not a personal achievement, just one of those miracles RPD is capable to achieve. I had only to acknowledge the phenomenon and the fact that we don’t really understand how or why it works, just to recognize that it works.
By the end of 1998 I was fairly desperate after so many years of terrible periodic suffering (nephretic colics typically once every year) and so I was willing to try anything once. It was instinctonutrition as developed by G-C Burger here in France.
Though I never actually followed the specific rules of instincto (eat only what smells and tastes best) I have been on RPD from december 1998 on and ever since. Strictly, with not a single “cooked” cheat since because I’m a physicist and wanted to do a meaningful experiment. Well after about 6 months on this diet the “kidney stones factory that my organism used to be had stopped it’s production”. That’s it, after all what may I add?

Well some details about diet:

The kind of raw paleo diet I was on now for 11 years is basically omnivore with initially and on average about 40% fruit, berries and nuts, olives, avocados.. 20% weggies and 40% food of animal kingdom (meat and fat of boar- fatty ribs of boar is still my favorite-, lamb, beef and other game when available, eggs, crabs, shrimps, fatty fish, shellfish etc). Over the years the diet changed progressively to a larger proportion of animal food (around 70-80 % now) that replaced the fruits not because I wanted to do that for theoretical reasons but just because fruits and sweet taste became less and less attractive and fatty meats or fish became more attractive. I have also observed that I need now much less calories and food than initially without any loss of weight (BMI=22.3 stable). With respect to fruit I add that I have absolutely no history of diabetes, all tests normal, even when I was on standard neolithic diet. This might explain that I’m able to do fairly well with a substantial quantity of fruit.

So much satisfying brain food. Thanks Alphagruis!
