Wild Edible Frogs Nutrition? Recipes?

May 31, 2009 by Good Samaritan

It’s been raining terribly so my hunter had a hard time in the mountains. He did come up with some wild edible frogs this morning.

I ate some raw frogs for lunch. Tasted like raw chicken — with no slime. Only the legs had good amount of meat. Bland taste. Not something to dream about. Any recommendations, experiences eating raw frogs?

For the kids, I had the maid cook the other frogs adobo style with no soy sauce — soya is all bad. Pretty good tasting adobo. Our other maid says they cook it in gata / coconut milk, and the hunter said he liked tinola style.

What’s your favorite frog recipe?

What kind of nutrition do we get with frogs?

Organic Duck, Raw Tuna with Raw Mayonnaise on our son’s Birthday

May 31, 2009 by Good Samaritan

Our son will be celebrating his birthday tonight with a dinner invite to immediate relatives. As we are conscientious health minded parents, we will be serving an all organic high fat dinner.

Our menu for this evening will be:
5 oven roasted organic ducks
1 whole 14 kilo grade A, wild ocean, yellow fin tuna I bought at 2am
– for “panga ng tuna” / grilled fish jaw wrapped in banana leaves for cleaner cooking.
– for tuna sashimi
– raw organic mayonnaise made from: raw duck eggs, extra virgin olive oil, anchor grass fed yellow butter
– organic white rice
– japanese sea weed paper nori for those who want to make their own sushi, roll some tuna and some rice in it to make sushi.

The message we want to get through to our guests with this food is that it will be filling because it is fatty, fat, fat. Duck is fatty, tuna is fatty, real raw mayonnaise is fat – fat – fat as duck egg yolks are fat, extra virgin olive oil is fat and grass fed butter is fat.

It is my observation that humans are FAT SEEKING creatures, we need fat, so the solution is to give humans HEALTHY FAT lest they be victims of eating BAD FATS like their usual: soya mayonnaise, margarine, peanuts, french fries, no cholesterol vegetable cooking oil — gross!

Lost Paleolithic Food found: Yummy Nutritious Soft Shell Turtle

May 10, 2009 by Good Samaritan

I’ve finally made first contact with a professional hunter, Mang Jose. He walks up the mountains at 1am and hunts for wild pythons, wild soft shell turtle, wild tilapia, wild dalag, wild hito / catfish, wild palakang bukid / edible frog. In this first meeting with him, he had 3 soft shell turtles. I thought turtles were slow, but not these turtles, they are fast and feisty, they’ll bite you if you aren’t careful.

This report serves to uncover a lost old time food, that of turtles. I’m pretty much convinced that turtles were a human staple and nutritious food in the old neolithic and paleolithic times. In the Chinese community in our city, turtles are still staple food. You can visit the restaurants in Chinatown and order turtle. You can go to the Chinese wet market and buy turtles.

The protected species of Philippine turtle are the ocean going pawikans, they have a conservation effort and pawikan repopulation centers around the country. Let’s hope their efforts are successful so some of us can get back to eating them ocean going pawikan turtles when their numbers have been replenished and the ban is lifted.

In the meantime, we can legally get a taste of an old staple food in turtles with freshwater river dwelling soft shell turtles, curiously, the native people also call this “pawikan”. My hunter calls it pawikan and so do his grandchildren. You can see the joy in the eyes of the hunter’s grandchildren, they love eating turtles and find them delicious. Found out the provincial people occasionally ate turtles on quite a regular basis, this is not exotic to them… there’s my father in law, my mother in law, all our maids, my security guard friend, my brother in law’s girlfriend… I feel small, me the city boy missed out.

Mang Jose the hunter demonstrated how to slaughter and cook the soft shell turtle. Sorry, raw meat fans, my hunter is not a raw foodist so I guess I’ll have to find out by myself in the future how to eat these turtles raw. In the meantime, I found out they were very simple to prepare. Just knock them on the head with your big knife, no need to outright kill it, then put the whole turtle in your boiling pot of water with some tanlad leaves. Boil for about 10 to 15 minutes, then clean the turtle with your hands. Simply remove the coating on the shell to expose the gelatinous edible shell on the sides of the hard shell, do the same with the belly. Upon removing the top and belly shells, you remove the head, and the claws, the large and small intestines, and careful to remove without breaking the gall bladder so there is no bile spilled or your turtle will taste sour / mapait. Then you cook the turtle by some other recipe you want. In this example, Mang Jose’s wife made adobo. I just made sure he didn’t put that nasty poison MSG on our turtle. I learned it was really easy to prepare these tasty turtles ourselves.

How did the turtles taste? Very good. Very tender. Very tasty, it has its own taste. The whole family enjoyed the turtles for dinner. I hope it brought really good wild nutrition to my kids, I drove quite far to get this to the table.

Nutritional value? My security guard friend who introduced me to his neighbor Mang Jose the hunter swears it was a month long regular ingestion of cooked turtle meals that got rid of his then 6 year old daughter’s asthma. Her asthma was the killing kind where she found it difficult enough to breath her lips turned blue. His daughter is now 8 years old and asthma free.

There must be something of high nutritional value in wild turtle, first of all it is wild. I remember my acupuncturist traditional Chinese doctor giving me directions to his favorite Chinese restaurant that served turtle, but I never got to going there. Mang Jose says regular ingestion of wild turtle can make 75 year old men virile again,  my Chinese doctor also told me this.

Is all this turtle nutrition sales talk? Probably not, Mang Jose is the kind of man who can’t sell anything and will always live a hunter’s existence. No, I’m not sharing my hunter’s contact number. Go find your own hunter. Mang Jose and I hope to have a nice long professional relationship.

Honey House in Alaminos – a source of Pure Raw Honey

April 28, 2009 by Good Samaritan

We visited the Honey House in Alaminos town, a source of pure raw honey.  This is an establishment that sells just honey related products.  They have 2 types of pure raw honey, and they have other varieties as well, with several products.  You can see them in their signboard of products below.

Are you able to read the contact numbers? 049-567-1457 and 0906-3165974.

The owner says they sell all their stock in that little honey house in Alaminos.  They don’t export outside of their town because they don’t have the capacity yet to do so.  Maybe next year?

The young lady Jen was nice enough to allow us to visit the bee farm just in their back yard.  We visited the hard working bees.  Took pictures, we didn’t get stung.

Raw honey is part of our staple food and I’m glad we found this additional source of raw honey.  Raw honey with calamansi juice… refreshing… raw honey with butter a la Aajonus Vonderplanitz… interesting… raw honey with avocado… rocks… my eldest boy likes raw honey with raw cow’s milk.

Patronize the Honey House, we need more of these genuine food conscious businesses.

We visit the Alaminos Goat Farm with the prospect of getting raw goat milk

April 28, 2009 by Good Samaritan

My son and I visited the Alaminos Goat Farm last Sunday.  We were on our way to Candelaria, Quezon to get raw cow milk, but Alaminos was on the way.  And the Alaminos Goat Farm had a sign visible on the main highway.  It was 11:30am, the goat farm care takers were friendly and we drove in to visit.  We asked for raw goat’s milk but it was not available just like that.  You had to special order it.  They do provide raw goat milk to cheese makers and soap makers.  I’m sure they may accommodate health seekers like us in the future.  The trick is to call their cell phone first and talk to the owner.  One of these days pretty soon I will try.

Note to those who have just tuned in to this blog, raw milk is a health drink.  Raw milk is the original cure of Hippocrates for tuberculosis.  Raw milk is high nutrition for those who who can digest it.

The caretakers said their milking schedule is at 7pm to 9pm.  This cannot be interrupted for anyone who wants raw milk.  After 9pm, maybe you can get raw milk.  It’s the process they do with the machines milking the goats and the way it is stored.  Most of it gets pasteurized so they can be sold under the Milk Star brand.  Only those who had reserved raw goat’s milk do theirs get refrigerated or frozen,  I don’t exactly know which.  I personally do not want my raw goat milk frozen.  Maybe next week we can try buying from them.

Do visit Alaminos goat farm website at http://www.alaminosgoatfarm.com/

Here are a few pictures of my little boy enjoying the goat farm’s charms.

Our boy is conquering primary complex with rest and nutrition

April 19, 2009 by Good Samaritan

Our boy who is turning 8 years old in June seems to finally be getting well of his diagnosed primary complex.  We never really did those sputum tests. 2 doctors on separate accounts suggested it was primary complex, Dr. Divina Hey the anthroposophic and Dr. Dy Liacco the head of the PICAM, the symptoms were his size, his constant mucus, coughs, he wasn’t thriving, lips were darkening, he is being overtaken in strength by his 2 1/2 year younger brother.  And this son of ours is the only unlucky one to be vaccinated with every prescribed vaccine until 2 years of age, including the anti-TB vaccine, which obviously does not work.  We are so happy after months of trying, we can see chubbier cheeks,  red lips, strong play, heftier chest.  All this in a short 3 weeks.

The key really was nutrition. Mr. Vander was correct, nutrition must come first before any manipulation.  These are the ones that me and my wife agree seems to have helped our boy:

  • Rest, it is summer break
  • Rest, we try to hammer a sleeping time of 8pm every evening, even during vacation
  • The 4 day egg yolk liver flushing with 1 egg yolk + calamansi + butter and then herbal colon cleanse with Dr. Tam’s Miracle Tea.
  • Daily raw egg – whether duck or chicken egg
  • Stop drinking coconut juice in the morning – as Dr. Dy Liacco suggested, it is dehydrating him instead of hydrating him
  • Fresh raw cow’s milk we got from Vander Gaditano’s farm.  We got 10 liters.  I appeared to be lactose intolerant and could not digest the milk, had farted terrible smelly farts due to it.  But my boy had no farting problems with it.  Good for him.  Raw milk was Hippocrates’ cure for TB.
  • Ka Rey Herrera’s Herbal, we got from www.reyherbal.com, I use cancer doses on him – 4 times a day.  Rey Herbal is just potent super food mixed in a synergistic manner.  I drink same doses my boy does.
  • Of course our steady supply of organic food and sometimes raw meals he gets from me like raw oysters, raw beef, raw fish, tastes of raw liver.

The anthroposophic phosphorus didn’t work on him, the super food made by Dr. Schulze he doesn’t like but his siblings do, the new zapper we invested in he doesn’t like because it makes him itchy.  I tried the zapper myself and it does make you itchy.

We just noticed today that he did not have any mucus, no coughs.  After so many months of suffering.  Ah progress.

And he was rebellous this evening, wanted us parents to turn on the airconditioner when it just rained and blew fresh air this evening.  That rebellous thing was what the healer Vander was talking about, now I understand, my boy is getting stronger.  I hope he continues to grow stronger.  Need to buy a new batch of raw milk.

Super Nutrition Plan for my eldest boy

April 11, 2009 by Good Samaritan

Our eldest boy is small. Suspected primary complex, obvious malnutrition and dehydration. We have consulted with Dr. Divina Hey, Dr. Dy-Liacco and Mr. Vander Gaditano. This post is meant to help me form in my mind how to approach the cure of our little boy. Little is right, the way the 2 younger siblings are devouring food, growing and strengthening, our eldest will be overtaken soon.

Hydration. Seems we will move coconut juice from immediate breakfast to 10am. Salt and Water Cure as described in watercure2.org. It will be some 1 liter of water with 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Divided in 6 equal parts.

Appetite enhancement. We will be experimenting with Cherifer for appetite enhancement for a short time. Once I see him gain appetite, will let Cherifer go.

Pump immediate nutrition. Juiced vegetables and fruits Gerson style is good for crisis medicine. Since we are not equipped with the practice of Gerson, I will just invest in Ka Rey Herbal’s food supplement. These are juiced fruits and vegetables, packaged and ready to supplement. I will get the whole set of 3 plus the strongest last bottle. Expensive at 2,400 for the set but it should do the job. It’s easy too. Just 30 ml 30 minutes before the 3 meals. Then 30 ml at night before bed.

Ongoing nutrition:

I have a new source for clean raw milk. Mr. Vander Gaditano’s farm sells raw cow milk minimum 10 liters per order. We visited last week and verified the cows were healthy, roaming and cleanly milked.

Dr. Schulze’s Super Food + fruit shake every morning.

1 raw fertilized egg, duck or chicken every day.

Invest in raw and rare beef, raw liver, goat, oysters, yellow butter, yellow ghee, raw fish. Invest in bone broths.

We have a new source of organic brown rice from Vander Gaditano. Tastes good. Newly harvested. Eating of such rice will be paired with high fat like butter or olive oil or coconut milk or egg yolks, for a high fat, high carb meal. It is important that it is high fat.

Half cook, raw fatty meat where applicable. Can’t heal people on a purely cooked diet.

Fruits in season, nutritious green leafy vegetables maybe juiced like kamote tops, but then again, ReyHerbal.com takes care of the vegetable arena.

It is summer time and my boy will have all the chances. I just need to fix my time so I can administer to his every need and supervise the maids. Personally be with my boy at every meal.

This post is about nutrition, so the rest of the story with parasite cleansing and zapping belongs in another post. Will probably get a definitive tuberculosis test, and if positive begin with beam rays for immediate results.
