Oprah admits she is obese, she needs TRUTH about Health & Nutrition, not gold diggers

December 10, 2008 by Good Samaritan

In the news this morning, television talk show host and billionaire Oprah Winfrey admits to weighing 200 pounds and for her height that is obese.  Everyone can see that on television, it is so obvious.  What is obvious to my mind is with all that money that Oprah has at her disposal… why can’t she buy the TRUTH about health and nutrition?

This is an excerpt on Yahoo News:

“I’m mad at myself,” Winfrey writes in an article provided early to The Associated Press by Harpo Productions.

“I’m embarrassed,” she writes. “I can’t believe that after all these years, all the things I know how to do, I’m still talking about my weight. I look at my thinner self and think, `How did I let this happen again?'”

In the piece, Winfrey, 54, details her recent struggles with an out-of-balance thyroid and how the condition made her develop “a fear of working out.” She says she’s added 40 pounds to her frame since she weighed 160 pounds in 2006.

“Yes, you’re adding correctly; that means the dreaded 2-0-0,” Winfrey writes. “I was so frustrated I started eating whatever I wanted — and that’s never good.”

I can see that sometimes, all that money clouds your judgement.  The snake oil salesmen, the most profitable garbage peddlers probably keep knocking on Oprah’s ears… for the money, money, money.  They do not care about Oprah as a person… they just want her money.  Whoever has been Oprah’s doctors or nutritional consultants are all failures.

Oprah needs to be educated in the truth about health.  The truth about her thyroid, the truth about her weight problem and possible complications with her overall health.  It is time Oprah searched for the TRUTH about health under cover,  off-camera, off-the-record.

Oprah needs to learn that she is the student.  She needs to find her teacher.  And when she finds her teacher, be humble and follow her teacher. If Dr. Henry Bieler were alive today, he would be a good teacher.  He is the author of Food is your Best Medicine.  He was the type who did not care how rich you are or how famous you are, he taught you just like any person.

My credentials?  I’ve been obese before myself.  And I decided I did not want to be obese anymore.  I discovered that truth in health slowly and spectacularly.  At this point in my life I am a raw paleolithic diet practitioner.

What personal advice can I give to Oprah if she asked me?

See my diet advice on cure manual http://www.curemanual.com/diet-strategies

Buy the book Food is your Best Medicine by Henry Bieler MD.

Then visit the Paleo Diet of Dr. Cordain and buy his book for advice on the paleo diet which still allows cooked meat.

Then visit http://www.rawpaleodiet.com , the ultimate destination to be in tip top shape.  The visit our support forum at http://www.rawpaleoforum.com

Raw Paleolithic Diet is organic raw ripe in season local fruits, organic raw vegetables and organic / grass fed / ocean / wild raw animal foods (fish, clams, squid, fertilized eggs, beef, chicken, goat, sheep, rabbits, etc.)

What can Oprah expect in a year if she follows my advice? See this video below.

Someone close to Oprah show her this blog post.  Teach her well.  She’s a good person.  She deserves the truth.

Bragg’s Liquid Aminos alternative to Soy Sauce in our Organic Chicken Teriyaki

December 1, 2008 by Good Samaritan

Yesterday we had a birthday party for our 4 year old girl.  The theme was Japanese.  We had chicken teriyaki, tuna sashimi, salmon sashimi and various types of sushi plus various fruits with a big watermelon being the highlight.  I can’t expect the guests to eat raw organic chicken like I do.Continue Reading

I discover and try for the first time raw ocean shrimp and raw ocean clams

November 29, 2008 by Good Samaritan

Saturday market day and today was a time for discovery.  With my trusty cook we went to Farmer’s Market in Cubao and bought many new things for me to taste.  This time I had clams in mind… the halaan variety.  Then we chanced upon ocean caught shrimps.

The nice lady vendor said that her clams were already dipped in salty water so they are now clean.  They have expunged their sand.  They are ready to eat.  I asked where they came from, she said this batch came from the ocean waters at Bataan province.  The other kind of clams came from ocean waters of Bicol.  That’s comforting to hear because I don’t trust Cavite waters.

I asked for a taste of the clams.  I thought she was going to get a knife to open one up.  Instead she just took one clam and smashed its shell in a corner of her stall.  I was surprised it was that easy.  And she gave me the smashed shell to eat.  It was pretty obvious that my cook and this lady vendor are used to eating raw clams.  And to my surprise these clams were tasty and slightly sweet.  For those who still cook, there is absolutely no need to cook these babies.  Now I realize those theories about humans may have evolved and thrived near the sea.  With abundant small fish and shellfish, you have an easy and delicious life.  Picking up a clam and smashing it on a stone is so easy a 4 year old child can do it.

Among the many other things we bought I chanced upon ocean caught shrimps. Maybe 6 inches long curved. If you remove the head it is just 4 inches long.  At home I first had a bowl with some natural coconut vinegar to dip the shrimps in.  I tasted the shrimps first and it tasted heavenly plain.  I returned the vinegar to its bottle.  I greedily ate all the shrimps without dipping them in vinegar.

After the shrimps I ate my freshly killed organic yellow never frozen raw bone marrow and raw sirloin.  Then I had dipped in vinegar some tiny ocean shrimp called alamang.  And to cap off lunch I chomped on some sea weed, lato variety, some small and some bigger bubbles.

We put the clams in water.  They are still alive.  Waiting to be eaten at dinner time.

Simple headache cured immediately by hydrating with coconut juice

November 11, 2008 by Good Samaritan

My 5 year old boy came home after lunch yesterday and was complaining he had a headache. I asked where. He said, everywhere his whole head.

I had just finished lunch and we still had half a pitcher of fresh raw newly opened coconut juice. So I immediately filled my adult glass to half and gave it to my 5 year old boy. He quizzically expressed his doubts as to what good is that supposed to do.

I taught my boy that most headaches are mere signals of dehydration. You may not feel thirsty, but indeed you are thirsty. If you have been drinking water, it is pointless and ineffective usually because it is of the incorrect structure. My 7 year old illustrates with his body that when he drinks regular water, it merely makes a stop over at his stomach and heads straight to be urinated. But when he drinks coconut juice he feels the coconut juice dispersing throughout his body and he does not feel like urinating it. The innocent observation of a 7 year old is what we should be listening to.

Back to my 5 year old, in about 2 minutes of drinking that half glass of coconut juice his headache was gone and I got a big kiss. Very simple solution, great rewards!

For those who live in a place where there are no coconuts? Squeeze a lemon, an orange, or any citrus in water and wait 5 minutes to give it structure. Drink this. Better yet, open a hydrating fruit like water melon and eat.

I tried Sally Fallon of the book Nourishing Traditions recipe for Fish Stock

November 7, 2008 by Good Samaritan

A few days ago I decided to try and make sole fish stock as described in page 119 of Sally Fallon’s book: Nourishing Traditions. This is a hands on application of Dr. Weston A Price’s teachings. The reason I’m getting into the cooked recipes in this book is because I observed that it may take more time for me to overcome the resistance of my wife to more raw animal foods and that my children are also influenced by my wife and the maids around them. So I will have to learn to feed them much better cooked food while still hammering on more raw food.

“…meat stocks are extremely nutritious, containing the minerals of bone, cartilage, marrow and vegetables as electrolytes, a form that is easy to assimilate. Acidic wine or vinegar added during cooking helps to draw minerals, particularly calcium, magnesium and potassium into the broth.”

“Raw food compounds are colloidal and tend to be hydrophilic, meaning they attract liquids. Thus, when we eat a salad or some other raw food, the hydrophilic colloids attract digestive juices for rapid and effective digestion. Colloids that have been heated are generally hydrophobic – they repel liquids, making foods harder to digest. However, the proteinaceous gelatin in meat broths has the unusual property by which gelatin attracts water to form desserts, like Jello, allows it to attract digestive juices to the surface of cooked food particles.”

In my fish stock I bought 1 whole kilo of sole and added all the materials required: butter, onions, carrot, thyme, parsley, bay leaf, my white wine was yacon wine, organic coconut vineger, and filtered water. We let the stock simmer for 4 hours.

And upon refrigeration, yes! My stock turned gelatinous – meaning we did a good job! Hooray, now my cook knows how to do this. Next time we will try beef… but that takes a long time… 12 hours.

Here is a picture of my gelatinous fish stock:

Disagreeing with a fructose = fruit opinion causing weight gain and more

November 6, 2008 by Good Samaritan

I’m harping here against a low-carb blog opinion about fruit being unhealthy for humans entitled “Fructose–Not as healthy as it appears to be” which is a simplistic chemical mindset view of what food is. These chemical people are primitive in their pseudo science as they equate fruit = fructose.

See http://lowcarb4u.blogspot.com/2008/07/fructose-not-as-healthy-as-it-appears.html with the snippet in the post:

“Fructose is the sugar is found in most fruits. Like glucose, it is a simple sugar, but our bodies handle fructose in a special way. Look at the diagram below, which appears in Fructose, weight gain, and the insulin resistance syndrome by Sharon Elliot and coauthors.”

Weight gain my foot from fruits? These authors are non-experiential in their approach. Have they ever met a FAT fruitarian? There are no FAT fruitarians! Fruits cannot make people fat. Cooked grains, cooked potatoes do make people fat… routinely… in the millions! Check out the ridiculous chemical diagram:

These simply “distilled opinion” of what I think is garbage about chemicalizing food. Saying fruit = sugar or fruit = fructose. Which in my opinion is baloney and wrong. Just as we cannot just lump protein = beef = wild salmon = wild tuna = farmed fish or FAT = canola oil = butter = beef brains = marrow = extra virgin olive oil

This is why we humans crave for variety. All these foods are different. All these foods give different results. All these foods have different nutrition.

Fruit is of paleolithic heritage. In tropical and forested areas, people had to snack on fruit for hydration and food in between kills of meat.

Paleolithic times does not mean exclusively ice age times… where people were forced to be carnivorous… the ice ages came in and out.

Weston Price studied different isolated healthy tribes and eskimos were just one of them.

In times of healing… not so sweet fruits are used as fasting tools.

What i’m saying is that this diagram about fructose may be true for PURE fructose as a chemical but certainly DOES NOT apply to all the fruits of today and up to 5 million years ago.

This post does not mean to suggest to go either high carb or low carb… it merely suggests that fruits are a paleolithic food and the amount of fruits people ate would have depended on where they were and what kind of fruits were available and at what season.

Which fruits are bad? Commercially farmed with chemical fertilizers, all forms of pesticides, herbicides, molluscisides, fungicides, etc. Then picked to early, then irradiated, sprayed to ripen with chemicals. Sprayed with preservatives at the store. Probably even canned, preserved, or dried with even more chemicals. And they call this “fruit”.

Which fruits are good? Organic, wild, picked ripe, eaten immediately with none of the above chemicals and processing.

Note to newbies… quantify everything… read and experience for yourself.

Sick 5 year old girl finally poops is cured. Goes to school today.

November 6, 2008 by Good Samaritan

The 5 year old girl visiting us finally pooped 2 days ago after 5 days of being sick and non-pooping.  I hope this serves as education for parents to seriously monitor the pooping schedule of their children.  This girl was sick merely due to constipation.  And this constipation is caused by an extremely low fat diet and processed food.

Yesterday this little girl missed on poop again.  Today she will have to be monitored if she will poop today.

This breakfast I watched helplessly as this little girl’s nannie gave this 5 year old girl her breakfast: white rice, hasa hasa fish left over from last night, Milo chocolate milk drink, and commercial hotdogs.

I joked this morning that since the little girl is cured, you can now push hotdogs and Milo on her.  And pushing it indeed was what the nannie was doing.  She sternly watched as the child forced herself to finish 1 full cup of Milo.

For those who just joined us, my critique is Milo is a processed product which has changed many hands and undergone much processing.  Chocolate is from the fruit cacao, dried, crushed, stored, mixed in, packaged, reconstituted.  The milk is from some commercial farm raised cow, pasteurized, powdered, stored, mixed in, packaged, reconstituted.  And whatever the company wants to mix in to the package.

Hotdogs are the non-saleable parts of cows, pigs, chickens and probably some surprise animals on non-animals in it.  Who really knows what is in a hotdog?  Plus chemicals as preservatives, flavorings, and food colorings.  Then you fry it, frying being the worst cooking method… and fried in what commercial vegetable oil with the worst fat profile?

This little girl is tons pretty… must be the genes… but genes only go so far… If this little girl were given a sane diet such as a Weston Price type diet, she would be healthy instead of sickly.  And she should be pooping once per day.
