Raw Fat Good for You, Infants Thrive on Raw Saturated Fat

August 17, 2010 by Good Samaritan

An open to the public study shows that human infants thrive on raw fat in breast milk. Plus that raw fat in human breast milk is 50% saturated fat. Raw Saturated Fat is good for babies, we humans evolved that way. Raw fat is good for you too. I know it’s good for me and good for my wife and my children. Come and read the abstract and the conclusion of the study: Saturated Fats: A Perspective from Lactation and Milk Composition

Abstract

For recommendations of specific targets for the
absolute amount of saturated fat intake, we need to know
what dietary intake is most appropriate? Changing agri-
cultural production and processing to lower the relative
quantities of macronutrients requires years to accomplish.
Changes can have unintended consequences on diets and
the health of subsets of the population. Hence, what are the
appropriate absolute amounts of saturated fat in our diets?
Is the scientific evidence consistent with an optimal intake
of zero? If not, is it also possible that a finite intake of
saturated fats is beneficial to overall health, at least to a
subset of the population? Conclusive evidence from pro-
spective human trials is not available, hence other sources
of information must be considered. One approach is to
examine the evolution of lactation, and the composition of
milks that developed through millennia of natural selective
pressure and natural selection processes. Mammalian
milks, including human milk, contain 50% of their total
fatty acids as saturated fatty acids. The biochemical for-
mation of a single double bond converting a saturated to a
monounsaturated fatty acid is a pathway that exists in all
eukaryotic organisms and is active within the mammary
gland. In the face of selective pressure, mammary lipid
synthesis in all mammals continues to release a significant
content of saturated fatty acids into milk. Is it possible that
evolution of the mammary gland reveals benefits to satu-
rated fatty acids that current recommendations do not
consider?

and

Conclusions

The genes and biochemical processes of lactation that
produce milk fat evolved under the constant selective
pressure of nourishing mammalian infants. Lipids in milk
are a source of energy for the neonate of each species. The
composition and structures of lipids in milk provide bio-
active components that, although not identified as ‘‘essen-
tial’’ nutrients by standard definitions, none-the-less serve
important functions as structural building blocks, fuels,
transport systems, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and
antiviral agents in the intestine. These lipids include tria-
cylglycerols—which are metabolized to monoacyl- and
diacylcerides and fatty acids—and phospholipids such as
sphingomyelin. The lipids in milk are also carriers of
important fat-soluble vitamins such as vitamin E, vitamin
A and vitamin D.

The absolute quantities and proportionate balance of the
various macronutrients in human diets remains the subject
of both scientific research and public health speculation.
Although unquestionably evolved to nourish infants,
detailed examinations of milk and lactation in humans and
other mammals are revealing new insights into structures
and functions of different components in the diet, including
fat. The gene set responsible for the production of lipids is
a conspicuously retained subset of the genome throughout
mammalian lactation, implying that milk is, in many
respects, a lipid delivery system [86]. Saturated fatty acids
are a significant component of all mammalian milks
examined, including human milk. Thus, whereas diets
inordinately high in any component are likely to be net
deleterious, finite quantities of saturated fatty acids may
provide distinct mechanistic benefits to various metabolic
processes. Recognizing that different humans with differ-
ent lifestyles respond differently to fat intakes and com-
positions implies that in the future, diets will be designed
for individuals not populations. In such a future, finite
intakes of specific saturated fats may actually be
recommended.

It is important we humans who are not infants like children and adults consume raw fats. Raw fats in live back fat, raw bone marrow, raw fatty animal meat.

B12 Shot, B12 Rich Foods and Weleda Anthroposophic Medicines and 90% well from Chronic Fatigue

August 16, 2010 by Good Samaritan

W who 2 weeks ago had bronchitis and pneumonia symptoms caused by B12 deficiency as can be seen she was anemic, feels today she is 90% well and has gone to an overnight business trip to Batangas.  Her chronic fatigue turned better after the B12 shot, the Weleda anthroposophic medicines to relieve her of her bronchitis symptoms, which allowed her to rest, bed rest plus the ingestion of a good amount of raw bone marrow, raw clams and raw beef liver.

Funny that a few days ago she consumed so much raw bone marrow.  Then yesterday she consumed a bowl full of raw beef liver pate where I blendered some 100 grams of raw beef liver plus a whole red onion. W added some salt and I was surprised she ate it all.  That’s B12 deficiency for you.  She must have found it delicious.

I pushed my luck this morning and blendered raw beef liver with raw beef kidney plus the red onion but she found the taste disagreeable.  Oh well, I blendered  a new batch that was just raw liver.

What’s the future for W’s recovery?  I see me marketing more B12 rich foods like clams, oysters and liver and kidney and making more dishes however cooked just so W and her kids can be pumped full of B12.  Maybe it is the missing link to W’s energy levels.  Maybe the reason why she seems fatigued by early evenings is because of B12 deficiency because she always avoided the B12 rich foods she feels they were yuck or caused tummy pain.

I’ll shoot for 1,000% recovery, meaning 900% over and above the 100% recovery.  Maybe W will see energy levels I had never seen before.

Ginger Tea plus Sweet Potato Leaves pounded for its Raw Green Juice helps with Stuck Mucus

August 16, 2010 by Good Samaritan

Following the adventures of the raw foodist E who seems to have been downed by eating a lot of cooked pork lechon in one sitting. He had been having difficulty breathing while lying down so it affected his sleep. Last night he tried some raw green juice from kamote tops (sweet potato leaves) plus 2 cups of water. Then followed up by hot ginger tea. Even made to sniff the evaporating aroma of the fresh ginger tea as it was heated.

First the kamote tops green juice. I found it tastes not so good. E’s friend J found it didn’t taste good. But E found that it tastes absolutely great… refreshing even. J and I had a good laugh thinking maybe E is also vegetable nutrition deficient and probably body acidic by now from lack of sleep it was just what he needed at that time.

Second, our maid Arlene saw how terrible E looked and suggested ginger tea aka “salabat.” She made it fresh for E and had him smell the evaporating mist over the boiling pot. E’s eyes lit up and was inspired. He thought that this ginger tea was wonderful and was hopeful he could sleep through the night well.

E, J and I had a tiring day. I drove all the way to Infanta, Quezon and back. That tour deserves a separate blog post though.

E and J decided this time to blow some money on a good hotel and chose the Eurotel Suite which had a window and real hotel amenities. E brought with him the pyroenergen, some avocado leaves tea and some more ginger tea for his supplies.

Pyroenergen Treats Dry Cough, Hard to Breath Lungs

August 14, 2010 by Good Samaritan

I have a friend and tourist visitor named E. He went to Palawan and ate a good amount of lechon (roasted pig) and his troubles began. Must have been too much cooked pig skin and MSG. Had liver pain, then rashes in the front and back of his body. Initially had a bad case of diarrhea. Was dry coughing really bad with nothing expelled. Then had difficulty breathing lying down, which led to sleep deprivation for 4 days… He arrived in Manila last night so I had to take action.

Parasite cleanse. I don’t know what he picked up in Palawan, but regular dosing of BarefootHerbalistMH.com dewormer should clean him up of parasites. 1 tablespoon in 1/2 cup of water. Sip don’t gulp in 5 minutes, 30 minutes before meals, 2x per day.

Kidney cleanse. Avocado leaves tea. Just 7 fresh avocado leaves in 1.5 liters of filtered water. Boil for 15 minutes. Drink the whole night. Pee your toxins away, cleans the blood.

Nutrition. E had not had his comfort food for some time in Palawan so at my house he had some raw beef, raw fat and raw bone marrow. And later on he had some raw liver ceviche and this evening I gave him some fresh raw liver. Figured on his 3 months touring south east asia he was B12 deficient from not eating any liver for 3 months.

Pyroenergen to the rescue. E felt really bad. I saw him try to lie down and he said he couldn’t breath. He resorted to try sleeping sitting up but that didn’t work too well. This young man needed his sleep. Pyroenergen works to fix the body electric aura to allow self healing. In the case of E, everytime he used the pyroenergen, he would be able to cough out phlegm! No longer the dry cough. In 1 hour of pyroenergen E was able to expel and finish off a toilet paper roll full of phlegm. In 1 hour his lungs felt it had improved 50%. He was still coughing after the machine was turned off, but E was finally able to sleep! Awesome!

Today E just spent the time at his hotel sleeping. Too tired. He experimented with the Pyroenergen and found that it repeatedly helped him in coughing out the mucus. Interesting.

We also tried a whole bunch of other stuff on E like Quantumin drops in his nose and gargling it with water, with colloidal silver gargling to stop the coughing, lagundi just once to expel mucus, oleia oil on his chest and back to hopefully relieve any inflammation. But it was the pyroenergen that was the highlight of this healing act. Of course the other methods helped. The kidney cleanse expelled some foul smelling pee and his rashes have lessened.

I left E a steam bath generator but he didn’t use it yet. E feels good enough this evening we have plans to driving out of town tomorrow. Thanks again pyroenergen!

B12 Deficiency, Chronic Fatigue, Bronchitis – progress reported 85% better

August 14, 2010 by Good Samaritan

W reported this afternoon she felt 85% better. Thank you for the comment about chronic fatigue being a symptom of B12 deficiency. Yes, she’s been having chronic fatigue this whole 2 weeks. And if I think about it, had chronic fatigue for quite a good number of years simple because she avoided B12 rich foods like liver, clams and oysters.

Everyday she has been having liver ceviche, raw clams and raw bone marrow. I’ll have to buy new supplies tomorrow. Also tomorrow I will try out the new raw liver pate recipe with just fresh raw liver blendered with a red onion. Maybe add some basil leaves for presentation and taste. I want W to eat really raw liver.

I will be going on a trip to Infanta Quezon and maybe I can get fresh live clams from that area. Who knows?

But yeah, that chronic fatigue thing is real. She always sleeps so early. Gets some energy in the morning and in the afternoon is low battery drained.

B12 Deficiency Feeding with Raw Beef Liver and Live Clams Halaan

August 13, 2010 by Good Samaritan

W is not yet fully recovered from her bronchitis leading to pneumonia caused by B12 deficiency. She needs bed rest. She stays home. But still does some remote office work. I researched a little and I found that the best sources of vitamin B12 are raw liver, raw kidneys, raw live clams, raw live oysters.

For the past 2 days W has been trying out the raw beef liver with a ceviche twist. We cube the liver and sprinkle on the calamansi and sprinkle some freshly ground pepper on it. It keeps in the refrigerator. She’s had this stuff for some 2 days now. But she eats something like 1/2 a cup a day only. She’s trying to get over the yuck factor. Tomorrow I’ll probably try to buy larger slices of beef liver and make pan seared steaks with large onion rings. That is a common cooked dish. Maybe the insides will still be rare enough. But ultimately I want her to eat it raw. Will try my best. The raw liver I got 2 days ago was very good. Very young. I ate quite a lot of the pristine yummy raw liver. Hmmmm…..

Also the past 2 days I was successful in feeding W some raw live halaan clams, another B12 champion. My trusted market stall says these came from Cebu. They taste clean and fresh. Yesterday W had 1 big live clam. This evening she had 2 big live clams, the children had 1 live clam each and I had 6 live clams. Pretty good.

From Nutrition data:

1 ounce (28g) of raw beef liver for Vitamin B12 has 16.6 mcg which is 277% of RDA
1 ounce (28g) of raw clam for Vitamin B12 has 13.8 mcg which is 231% of RDA

When I was in the wet market I tasted the raw beef liver in the stall I was buying it from and the senior lady butcher said that raw liver is very good for anemics. So, other people already know about this.

All W needs to do is steadily increase her intake of these food stuffs daily and she should be stuffed full of B12, assuming she can absorb them.

Hey, I remember a time just a few months ago I was gorging on raw oysters, full meals of just oysters, several times a week. Now come to think of it, that was my body’s way of loading up on vitamin B12 and zinc. When I was finally filled up, I stopped. Now I eat oysters not as much and not as often.

I now have to observe W on what she craves for. I did notice she went on a raw fat binge with raw bone marrow 2 days ago. She ate a bowl full!

B12 Deficiency and Difficulty Healing Bronchitis Pneumonia Cure Attempt

August 12, 2010 by Good Samaritan

The saga of W’s illness continues. She is making little progress in her health. She still needs bed rest. Last Monday’s Beam Ray session with Romy Macapagal concluded with no parasites, bacteria or viruses in her. So whatever ails her must be malnutrition related. Yesterday Wednesday she finally got an appointment with her Anthroposophic doctor Divina Hey-Gonzales. She had transferred clinics and was not available for the past week or so.

Dr. Divina immediately commented that W looked yellowish – anemic. Found from questioning that she still bled spots of blood already 2 weeks from her first menstruation day. She then heard the history of W’s illness as I related in my previous blogs. What seems to relieve her. She noticed that blood pressure was very low… 80 over 50. That her right lung was all terribly inflamed bronchial tubes and alveoli. That she had a “normal” cooked meat fruit + organic rice every other day diet. That she had lost 5 pounds in this illness from 100 to 95 pounds at 5’2″.

Diagnosis? Bronchitis progressing to pneumonia caused by B12 deficiency. I had known W since she was 18 and she had bouts of problems with anemia since that age. W turns 38 next month.

Dr. Divina prescribed a cocktail of anthroposophic medicines to treat W’s condition. Strange sounding Weleda brand names such as Pneumodoron 1 and 2, Mercurious Vivus, Pertudoron 2, Noutronit / Pulmo / Stibuin / Prunus, Echinacea, Anaemodoron, Digestodoron. You could probably look this all up in the Weleda website. Plus W was immediately given a B12 shot called a MethylCobalamin Injection.

Dr. Divina is currently in a Pesco-vegetarian kick and she recommends vegetables, but we need to wait for the organic market on Saturday to get true organic produce. W does not like any non-organic vegetables and thinks pesticide laden veggies may make her health worse. We do get good grass fed beef and wild ocean fish, but that does not meet her B12 deficiency. And now I know why.

I Googled a little and found the real reason for her B12 deficiency was W’s strict avoidance of all B12 rich foods! Insane huh? She’s been avoiding these B12 rich foods all her life and thus the result with B12 deficiency. She avoids clams, oysters and liver — but just eat a measly few ounces of each item overshoots the RDA for B12 hundreds of percent each time!

So this Thursday morning I immediately set out for Farmers Market in Cubao to buy some nutritious B12 foods. I got fresh young beef liver… just lucky I guess… tasted it at the stall, the senior lady butcher said raw liver was good for anemic people… I did not solicit that comment. Then I got some live halaan clams from the waters of Cebu. Then I got some live oysters from Bulacan. I also got some fresh raw bone marrow in a “barbell” bone… yummy, never refrigerated and they had a mechanical saw the cleanly cut it up. Also got some sea weed for vegetable nutrition. Though later we are scheduled for coconut milk with banana heart and okra cooked together for her vegetables.

At home I immediately opened the biggest live clam and coaxed her to eat it, which she did. Score one goal! Nutritiondata.com says Vitamin B12 13.8 mcg or 231% of RDA for just 1 ounce. I had the maid cut the raw beef liver in cubes and put some calamansi and ground pepper just like I do with the children. Long day still. I have to go to work. Will blog more later. In the meantime, enjoy the pictures.
