My contribution to the Raw vegans vs. raw paleolithic dieters discussion

July 9, 2008 by Good Samaritan

In http://www.rawpaleoforum.com/hot-topics/raw-vegans-vs-raw-paleo/ I contributed my 2 cents and this is how it went:

I tried raw vegan before for 2 months, more on the vegs than fruits.  Raw vegan doesn’t taste good at all.  I did like the fruit times.  The raw vegan I did was 1 kind of fruit in the morning, raw vegan mix at lunch with fatty extra virgin olive oil or freshly squeezed coconut milk then 1 kind of fruit in the evening.  I felt good.  But I was getting too skinny.

I went on raw fruitarian for 2 months.  It tasted better, but I was getting too skinny and felt cold and I live in a tropical country.

I added raw egg yolks, then raw fish (wai diet) and I felt much better, no more feeling cold, started gaining weight and felt stronger.  And the food tastes great.  Food tastes better and more satisfying on high raw fat.  I added raw beef and raw goat internal organs sometimes and I feel much better.

Raw paleo has more variety, I can swing to more fruits or more animal food whichever I feel like, the food tastes great, so it is sustainable and easy to do.   I look better and feel better.

I subscribe to wai’s theory that we don’t need plants.  I subscribe to aajonus theory that to get nutrients from the plants, just juice them and get rid of the indigestible cellulose.  I subscribe to the theory that we don’t need the fiber myth to make our bowels move.  Fats and fruit do a better job.  I’m only saying this based on my personal experience.

My wife begins her dental cleanse preparation by visiting the biological dentist and the anthroposophic doctor

July 9, 2008 by Good Samaritan

At long last, after many months of nagging and finally the big toothache convinced my wife to finally see the biological dentist Doctor Gaba in Paranaque City.  She says she was impressed by how modern his equipment were.  That doctor Gaba had a tiny camera tool on a dental instrument hooked up to a monitor so that the patient could see for himself the true visual condition of their teeth.  So my wife has mercury, amalgams, old black / silver fillings in all 4 quarters of her mouth.  There’s one tooth, the one aching that cannot be saved and will become an extraction.  But the rest can still be replaced with “safer” materials.

But before the actual procedures of removing the mercury from each quarter, my wife’s immune system has to be worked up.  My wife chose to forego the conventional anti-biotics in favor the more natural anthroposophic and homeopathic remedies of Dr. Divina Hey-Gonzales.

This evening she showed me her batch of homeopathic and anthroposophic supplements.  Many of them made by Welleda. I’ll have to come up with the list in another post.  I took a picture just so you know what I’m talking about.

Well I’m glad she got started with her dental cleanse.  I believe this is the last cleanse that needs to be taken cared of as I feel this mercury burden has been the big one, the one bothering her for many years of fatigue, depression, respiratory ailments, and many complications.  I boldly predict a few months after the mercury removal my wife will bounce out of her bed, outside her old cloudy dream and be a brand new woman.  Let’s hope it comes out true.

My grandma says she needs to be taken to the beach for her health

July 9, 2008 by Good Samaritan

My grandma just called me up.  She says her left leg is getting worse.  The shorter one.  She says she needs to go to the beach.  Dip in waist deep water.  Stay around for 3 days.

I really liked Quezon, but she says it is too far.  She likes Subic Bay, I said that’s too dirty with the former american bases leaving their radioactive garbage.  She says how about Batangas, it’s a thought, although there are industries.  You want clean, go to Quezon.  It’s just a little far.

I told my grandmother to borrow a car and some gasoline.  We’re being squeezed lately with high gas prices and I’ve only got one car and it’s pretty old now.  While in the house where she lives they’ve got lots of cars.

So grandma says she will borrow a car and me I have to find 3 days to take care of my grandma and hopefully target this weekend to go to the beach of her choice.

Transcript:

one of the best things terrorists could do is just build more fast food restaurants, maybe add another pharmaceutical company have a couple more infomercials and encourage people to eat, the way they eat now, and everybody’s gonna be dead in a hundred years they can just walk right in, don’t have to do a thing.

one quarter of what you eat keeps you alive and 3 quarters of what you eat keeps your doctor alive.

weight’s going up, heart disease going up, stroke going up

We’re poisoning ourselves with highly processed, nutrient depleted foods.

One of the major problems is what we do to the soil, and the air, and the water and everything we take in our food

we, for whatever reason decided were gonna spray everything with every kind of pesticide, herbicide, larvaecide, fungicide we decided we’re going to genetically modify things we don’t know anything about. can we actually improve what is already been created? and the answer is maybe, but not the way we’ve been doing it.

if you wanna know what’s wrong, look down at the table, it’s staring back at you.

think of it as chronic malnutrition because that’s what’s going on…

but if we think we’re gonna go to the doctor and get a pill for everything, we’ve missed the whole point, we have been taught our whole lives to be consumers to modern medicine which is pharmaceutical medicine, good health  makes a lot of sense but it doesn’t make a lot of dollars.

now the drug industry has every right to make money…. no question about that at all, the ethics I think need to be very closely watched.

what the pharmaceutical companies are doing may not necessarily be in the interest of our population.

you can be as sincere and you can be sincerely wrong.

approximately 106,000 Americans die from pharmaceutical drugs each year, and these are people who took the medication as directed.

there is a lot more turning to alternative because what is being done before it doesn’t work

there is no magic bullet, but there is a lifestyle change, that reverses serious chronic disease. it’s cheap, it’s simple, it’s safe, it’s effective.

the solutions are here, they’ve always been here.every single person in the world, every culture, every language every person in the world knows it…

you are what you eat!

food does matter!

it’s a choice, you don’t have to be sick.

Must See Movie: FOOD MATTERS, big key to curing ALL DISEASES

July 8, 2008 by Good Samaritan

“Food Matters” Director James Colquhoun talks to David and Kim about the feature documentary that has been called “the food equivalent of ‘An Inconvenient Truth'”.

I’m a raw foodist. I learned about raw food because I used to be really sick and I wanted to not only get well but to be in the best shape and best looks I’ve ever been. It works for me, my family, and the people I teach how to cure themselves and that is why I put it in my personal website http://www.curemanual.com/diet-strategies

But I’m just one guy. My teachers aren’t that famous, but they are very healthy. There’s Barefoot Herbalist MH, there’s Aajonus Vonderplanitz, there’s Geoff Purcell at rawpaleodiet@yahoogroups.com and http://www.rawpaleoforum.com and there are the Wai Diet administrators at the Wai Diet Forum. There are also the beautiful people at http://www.living-foods.com

There is even an upcoming http://www.rawolympics.org on November 20, 2008.

But some people are bored reading. Some people respond to movies for motivation. So the food and nutrition gurus came up with a high class production movie called FOODMATTERS at http://tinyurl.com/foodmatters

Quick Book Review of The Omega Plan by Simopoulos and Robinson

July 7, 2008 by Good Samaritan

My friend Jackie lent me her newly bought on sale book called the Omega Plan.  It was on sale in National Bookstore, leftovers.  Copyright 1998, first edition.

Seems like these were the times when Omega 3 supplements were first heard around the world.  The author is Greek and found it interesting to study her healthy greek community and find out what they had to teach the rest of the world.  She found out that the people ate a relatively high fat diet, around 35% fat.  By her standards, 35% is high already.

The author eventually admits that the great diet is a Paleolithic diet.  But at no point does the author say RAW Paleolithic diet.  Meaning there is cooking in the book.  Whatever references to fish, sea food and lean land animal meats is COOKED.  So these are cooked omega 3 sources.  Plus she recommends extra virgin olive oil and canola oil.  Personally, I do not eat canola oil, I’m thinking hybrid, GMO, a recent frankenstein’s monster created by Canadians in 1978.  Where canola stands for “Canadian Oil, Low Acid.”  I’m not consuming a newly created by humans plant just introduced in 1978.  Give me the olives instead which have been in use for thousands of years.

The book’s points are based on favorable studies that show omega 3 oils are favorable to health.  So if you are comfortable with favorable studies, this is the book for you.  There are recipes for you to try.

My personal bias is I am a raw paleolithic dieter which I boldly claim works far better for me than cooked paleolithic.  This book made me appreciate raw ocean fish more.  This afternoon my son and I bought raw tuna and raw gindara and the whole family had both raw fish sashimi for dinner.  My son and I gorged on yellow fatty raw beef sirloin while in the car.  At dinner I added some raw organic chicken wings.

A quick book review of Selling Sickness by Ray Moynihan and Alan Cassels

July 7, 2008 by Good Samaritan

My friend Jackie lent me her book Selling Sickness by Ray Moynihan and Alan Cassels.  The front cover says “How the World’s Biggest Pharmaceutical Companies are Turning us all into Patients”

This book is a marketing expose.  It shows in plain language understandable by the common smart person how marketing is done by multinational companies.

Now I know pretty much how marketing and PR works since my wife is in that line of work and I have met people in that profession and have attended their award ceremonies.  It’s business.

Legally, the pharmaceutical companies are a business existing to make money, as long as what they do is legal.  And yes, what they do is legal, but the book blows the whistle on how unethical and how ultimately harmful the business has become.

Today, people’s and doctors’ minds are shaped by these legal behemoths of corporations they have a heartless soul all by themselves and the result is harmful for most people, including the very doctors and employees of those companies themselves.

The book is a must eye opener for the un-initiated.  You will never look at an advertisement, a doctor, a hospital or drug store the same way again.  The book shows just the tip of the iceberg.  It shows you that the popular diseases trumpeted in the prostituted media are trumpeted because it is big business.  The common sense you thought was common sense is in fact a result of effective marketing campaigns which earned the pharmaceutical companies big money.

If you are pharmaceutical company stock holders, you will applaud their techniques.  If you eventually become victims of their harmful drugs, procedures and doctor mis-education, you will be cursing them.

The book is an eye opener for those still unaware.
