Raw beef eating children enjoy tender top round cut for health

April 29, 2008 by Good Samaritan

Since January 2008 I’ve been on a raw paleolithic diet.  From a raw fruitarian diet in December 2007, then switching to a somewhat Wai Diet on January 2008 with the addition of raw fish and raw egg yolks.  Then around march I wanted to expand my taste buds to land animals, beginning with raw beef.

Raw beef in Manila is great.  It is freshly slaughtered beginning 11 pm at night, then sold to you fresh in the morning.  The affordable popular cuts are top round and sirloin.

I promised my kids this morning we would have beef steak this morning.  I ran into some server problems this morning and was eventually fixed.  I came home late around 12:30pm and the children had already had a light lunch.  They said they were reserving their tummies for the beef steak I promised them.  So I had to fulfill my promise and we went out to the market searching for fresh beef.

Not much luck finding fatty beef.  Raw Paleolithic style eating needs raw fats.  I went deep into uncharted stalls and found a nice 1 kilo worth of top quality top round cut beef with some good fat on it.

We went home and had the cook prepare the grill.  No need to wash the beef.  Just lay it on the hot grill for some 10 seconds, flip and lay again for 10 seconds then serve.  Ah, very fast, very convenient.

The kids devoured half a kilo of seared beef in a short few minutes.  My 6 year old boy requested for the raw beef.  He savored the raw slice.  He said he likes the raw beef more because it was oh so tender, very easy on is small teeth and jaws.

This evening was the left over 1/2 kilo of raw beef for my dinner.  The kids already ate some dinner but still swarmed on me as I was about to have my dinner.  They were much happier this time the tender top round cut was being eaten bloody raw.  My little girl even used the little pool of blood for sauce.

My camera was available and before the little carnivores could finish off the whole meal we snapped a couple of happy photos.  So much happiness, so much enthusiasm.  My 4 year old second boy exlcaimed, “truly delicious and juicy!”

Raw beef is a true food.  Children with uncorrupted taste buds swear raw beef is better than seared beef.  Natural hygiene principles apply to fresh raw beef.

I plan to pump these kids with more raw animal food choices.  Just this afternoon I bought a new batch of organic raw chicken eggs and already my 6 year old had one as part of his afternoon snack.

I am on a roll with this crusade for better kid nutrition.  I promise to buy goat innards next, liver and kidneys.  My 6 year old just loves goat kidneys.  We will be searing them.

Below are photos of my kids enjoying this meal.  Note the absence of fat; we already ate all the fat during lunch time.

My Raw Oysters Experiment, the results are in, immediately!

April 25, 2008 by Good Samaritan

Today I experimented with raw oysters. I bought 2 kilos of large oysters at the Marikina market. I had 1 kilo for lunch and 1 kilo for dinner. Of course when you open them up, they are just half a bowl full each time. Pretty cheap, 40 pesos per kilo. The market man said they never run out of oysters as they came from their own farm in Cavite. Buy local. That’s the way to go.

My cook just poured hot water on the oysters, opened them up, dipped them in organic coconut vinegar to hopefully clean them.

Around 9pm I knew I was in trouble. I felt tell tale signs of poisoning. I knew I had to poop. Early in the evening I took 6 capsules of Barefoot Herbalist MH’s Lower Bowel Balance capsules to assure me of a poop. The pain in my intestines came around 10:30 pm. Finally after some solid poops, the loose bowel movement came… and came… and came… until I felt it useless to keep putting on my boxer shorts, I just kept it off.

I was thinking of the bacteria I had read about that naturally lived within the oysters. So I took 1 full dropper of Barefoot Herbalist MH’s experimental tree iodine. Taking that made me feel better. And a few minutes later, what I was waiting for was the stomach reflex to pump out any toxins left in my stomach. I puked really strong until my abdominal muscles hurt. Not much puke though. But enough for the pukey feelings to subside.

I was weak, but very much lucid. I woke up my wife and requested her to ask the maids to open a coconut for me. If I weren’t so weak and dehydrated I would have opened the coconut myself. Ah, the coconut hydrated and refreshed me, diluted the toxins, whatever they were.

Cavite farmed oysters were bad today, it is April. Was this what they call Red Tide? Or was this just about polluted waters?

What I do know for sure is my foolish confidence in my new raw paleolithic body and health knowledge. I’m experimenting trying to expand my menu. Oysters, as are green mussels, are definitely off my shopping list.

It is 12:20 am as I write this. My puke was just around 12am. Fast recovery huh?

I have stopped taking all vitamins and minerals because raw food works better

April 22, 2008 by Good Samaritan

For those who may be reading my blogs you will notice a total absence of discussions about specific vitamins or specific minerals. I don’t like analyzing isolated vitamins or supplements. In my self experimentation, all the supplements and vitamins failed me. The best results I get is with true diet change, with real raw food.

Lately, that food has been raw fruits, raw sea weed and raw animal foods with raw wild ocean animal meats and the fats, raw and cooked fats, seemingly giving the best results. I’m very observant with the little signals in and around my body and I make judgments based on how I feel.

For feelings of coldness or inflammation, raw ocean fish works swimmingly well. My menu is still narrow. I’m slowly expanding my menu. Tonight will be kinilaw (dipped in organic vinegar) tawilis fish and some kind of raw sea weed.

I have observed there is a wider variety of ocean meats, I just have to painstakingly experiment and identify which ones are clean, what kind of food preparation is needed.

My latest interest is in the aquatic ape theory which seems to explain my observations in my health journey.

Aquatic Ape Theory Fits in my health and cure theories

April 22, 2008 by Good Samaritan

The common diseases are easily cured by undoing the mistakes of living. What we need to know are the correct ways of living. Lately I’ve been researching on human history and pre-history.

With historical times up to the dawn of agriculture, the neolithic times of only ten thousand years ago, then paleolithic times of hundreds of thousands of years ago and then back to some 5 million years ago more or less to when human ancestors branched out and re-merged, to the fact today that humans have 46 chromosomes while other apes have 48.

The Aquatic Ape Theory explains many things about our humanity. Why our nose is shaped like so, why we can dive, why we can speak, why babies cry loudly, why our brains are big, etc. Add to what I learned about health and curing is why humans need a lot of iodine… for brain development and that our expected environment, the seaside is rich in iodine. Why we humans need abundant Omega 3 fats and other fats and that these fats can easily be sourced from the ocean. Why humans around the world can readily eat aquatic plants and animals RAW but would need to cook land based plants and animals.

This is all excitingly new to me and I’d like to share this with you. Watch the 1998 BBC documentary on the aquatic ape theory:

Egg allergy for my 2nd boy? Maybe so.

March 23, 2008 by Good Samaritan

My wife analyzes that my boy’s condition only got worse when he was being fed raw egg yolks.  The worst episode with the native egg when he ate the whole thing with the white.  He scratched up real bad.

Barefoot herbalist MH is of the opinion that 1 egg compromises a child’s immune system for 10 days.  Maybe he is right.  Specifically for my 4 year old 2nd boy.  My 3 year old girl on the other hand thrives on raw eggs.

So if it was all those raw eggs that caused this problem, how long before this goes away?  We will see.

Tomorrow I’ll try to get an appointment with the anthroposophic doctor and ask her opinion.

The healthiest pork is roast pork: lechon / litson

March 6, 2008 by Good Samaritan

Many people trash pork.  They are fed feeds.  They stink.  They are not organic.

For cooked paleolithic dieters, pork can be eaten, the best pork is roast pork aka lechon / litson.

Why?  The pig was most probably slaughtered the day before it was cooked on a spit, then you eat it immediately plain, with the skin and the fat.  No rice, no sauce.  That is a paleolithic meal.  You use the fat for energy in place of rice.  There is no overeating because the fat you eat will signal you when it is time to stop eating.

I’ve tried it lately.  It’s okay.  Learn what time they finish cooking and arrive on the first hour so you get it freshly cooked.

What is the difference between cooked paleolithic and raw paleolithic diet?  I feel much better after eating a RAW meat meal.  A cooked meat meal makes me feel blah after consuming much fat.  But a raw meat meal feels good afterwards.

Oh, but I’m not eating raw pork.  Raw beef, raw goat yes, but not raw pork.

Calamansi tastes better than lemon for tuna sashimi

March 5, 2008 by Good Samaritan

The other night I had raw tuna sashimi and used fresh lemon juice as a dip.  So so.  This evening I used raw calamansi dip and it tastes much better.

Lately I’ve been disliking, actually disgusted at the taste of soy sauce for raw tuna or raw salmon.  Maybe my taste buds are adjusting for the better.  I tried 3 brands of soy sauce.  They all suck.

Calamansi isn’t required to enjoy sashimi, but it makes it more hygienic.  Kill off the whatever “germs” there are.  Calamansi is what makes kinilaw.

Reminds me to make kinilaw next time.  Hmmm… maybe with dilis.
