Hunting all aluminum cookware

I and my wife have gotten into the kick of replacing all our aluminum cookware.  We made one sweep a few months ago and we are doing a second sweep again.  We identified that the two electric rice cookers are aluminum.  Then the new rice cooking pot we use for the charcoal fueled stove is aluminum.  Then we see our frying pan is teflon coated.

I asked our wise old neighbor where he gets his stainless steel cookware.  He says he gets his from nearby Sta. Lucia Mall, the basement department store has lots of them.

What’s so bad about aluminum?  Aluminum is toxic to humans.  Aluminum leeches into food when the cookware is heated.  Aluminum is in anti-persperants, think about that.  That is why we have switched to using calamansi for our deodorant.

“The principal symptom of aluminum poisoning is the loss of intellectual function; forgetfulness, inability to concentrate, and in extreme cases, full blown dementia. It is also known to cause bone softening and bone mass loss, kidney and other soft tissue damage, in large doses it can cause cardiac arrest.”

First off, aluminum is around us every day whether you like it or not. It is consumed just from the air. You cannot avoid it, trying to do so would be pointless.

Secondly, most of those symptoms that you have listed are something called Alzheimer’s Diseases. There is already an article released by the Alzheimer’s Association that refutes that aluminum causes Alzheimer’s. It is in fact Alzheimer’s that causes the increase in aluminum in the brain as the disease causes more retention of aluminum, where as in a normal person that would be excreted through fecal matter.

Third, lets say aluminum WAS toxic and causes Alzheimer’s. You will on average ingest 30-40mg of aluminum a day with normal activities that don’t include cooking on aluminum or drinking from aluminum cans. In a worst case scenario, using vinegar and tomato juice in your cooking, letting it stand for about 3 hours and heating it to a very high temperature, you will get about 3-4mg of aluminum leached into your food if you do this all day for every single meal. This is only 10% of the amount that we ingest a day naturally. An antacid has 50mg alone and people who take many antacids throughout their life do not have Alzheimer’s.

This is a myth spread by The Watchtower, a religion of fools. Stop throwing away your aluminum cookware and utensils, its a waste of good metal.
