Paleo Diet Recipe: Japanese Inspired Sushi / Sashimi Feast with a Lot of Raw Wild Fish and some Organic Pork Bacon?

We went all out with our circa December 2012 version of our Japanese inspired sushi / sashimi feast with a lot of raw fish and with the comical addition of Organic Pork Bacon. It was our daughter’s 8th birthday and we needed to celebrate somewhat with the following premium ingredients:

Organic Pork Bacon – from the organic store OPTA

Various raw wild ocean fish: Yellow Fin Tuna, Blue Marlin, Malasugi

Farmed but still popular norwegian salmon.

Nori – sea weed paper for making sushi

Fermented pink ginger – excellent for digestion

Home made raw mayonnaise with Bragg’s olive oil, raw duck eggs, and some grass fed butter.

Super special organic sticky white rice on order only from the organic store in the village, they only mill the rice on order. We used a clay pot, palayok, and used banana leaves to line the pot, and added leaves of pandan for taste. The clay pot with rice was cooked using charcoal… not gas.

Big fat radish scraped like noodles.

Authentic Kikkoman fermented soy sauce.

Calamansi / Lemon.

Wasabe.

Organic cucumbers.

Naturally Ripened Mangoes… no kalburo!

For those who wanted to stick to paleo diet, they did not eat rice. Those who wanted raw paleo diet, did raw. A 10 year old boy nephew was just so amazingly thrilled with the feast… said sashimi was his favorite… so did a 9 year old girl nephew as well.

So it seems, fatty raw fish made people happy, fatty mayonnaise made people happy, fatty pork bacon made people happy. Everyone was happy. Fat makes people happy and contented.

It took a village to prepare all this. Parents bought the ingredients, auntie made the mayonnaise, grandma managed the kitchen, the maids sliced up the sashimi and cooked the rice and bacon. The children and the guests ate.
