Experiment with MSM Supplements for Sulfur… Got rashes!

I’m looking at organic sulfur supplements for my children who are on a mostly cooked paleo diet and of course I experiment with myself first. I bought a bottle of MSM supplements from Healthy Options to try out. 2 capsules 2 times a day for me.

A day later I had my 2 boys take the MSM 2 capsules in the morning and 1 capsule at night.

I started getting a rash, thinking it must be detox. Detox via the MSM? Or maybe I’m not compatible with MSM. I did a little searching on the web and found http://www.cancertutor.com/faq/faq_MSM.html and I trust this website. Cancer Tutor says if you get a rash due to MSM then MSM is not for you.

So that’s it. After 4 days of experimenting with MSM I will be stopping it due to the rash. It would be safe to say I have to throw out the rest of the bottle because my boys may not be compatible with MSM as well… they being 50% of me.

Then again, lately my body is detoxing and this MSM is just pushing it faster? Whatever. Time to stop this experiment.

I started kidney cleansing and did a steam bath yesterday, will probably do more steam baths to alleviate the rashes.

I personally do not need sulfur supplementation as raw meats should give enough sulfur in my diet. I may experiment with a different supplemental sulfur in the future for my kids. It may seem a stretch to force them on completely raw paleo diet long term. This is why I’m thinking of sulfur supplementation. Cooking dissipates the organic sulfur in food.
